Guest guest
Hi - I am a fourth year herbal medicine student at Edinburgh Napier University. I have been following the list with interest for a year would would like to thank you all for the shared knowledge and experience. I currently have a personal situation and would appreciate some advice - my 8 year old son who has atopic allergies since age 5 is seeing a nutritionist in London who advised to do a comprehensive digestive stool test with Genova which we complied. The test results detected Giardia Specific Antigen with Enzyme Immunoassay testing which suggest giardia is not currently active however recommends antibiotic treatment in any case. The recommended antibiotic (Metronidazole) is particularly nasty. His GP thinks that he does not need treatment as it is inactive he must have developed antibodies. My son is currently not showing any symptoms however we suspect has leaky gut and has been gluten, dairy free since it all started. What would be your advice? Would you push for this antibiotic? is there other ways proven of treating giardiasis?

Usually 6 capsules over 8 days, for a child perhaps half this dose. Contact me off list if needed: info@...
