Guest guest
Try treating the immune system rather than the hayfever symptoms. Shitake mushrooms, Astragalus, Siberian ginseng, turmeric in equal proportions, either as capsules, or in a tincture or decoction that also addresses the Sx. Sounds to me like you were keeping the symptomatic response below a clinical threshold, and once that threshold was breached, the immune system went into full-on response mode. This can happen when the Sx are dealt with early enough, either in the season or in age (seen childrens' Sx clear up and not re-occur in the same manner, then the next time the immune system is triggered, there's a full-on response.). hen I'm treating the heart, I often have to wait for up to a month for any change in Sx, What is she like constitutionally? Cardiac response is very governed by character, personality, humoural type etc. The heart has to feel certain that whatever is being introduced is reliable, trustworthy, if it is going to start using it. Just as the heart can be slow to trust a new lover, or situation, so it can be slow to trust a new medicine. And this makes me wonder about the esspresso as trigger. Perhaps she has absolute faith that caffeine and other stimulants are detrimental to her? And so maybe you can also treat this fixed idea? Also, remember that in some people, valerian can be stimulant and lead to agitation. I'd try something else, like tilia. And I often use cramp bark when asking the heart and cardiac system to relax Magnesium, yes, and also consider potassium. Guest guest
Dear Maggie The Rx you gave the young man for hayfever may well 'work' in simple cases of hayfever, I myself have often used those staple herbs with success. However, I find that when Herbs seem to do the trick initally and then suddenly not, I find myself wondering if there is a deeper underlying cause that I have missed. After all, the whole point of using herbs is to heal, not just 'get rid' of symptoms. If symptoms do not shift then there must be an underlying reason. What is the emotional health of your patient like? Have you worked with his liver? often in an allergic response, the liver is in need of support. I would maybe suggest you call him and discuss a deeper approach to his hayfever. Your lady with palpitations, I would suggest a similar thing, WHY does she respond so dramatically to expresso? What are her adrenals up to? is she generally stressed, driven, running on adrenalin to the point where if she has a stimulant such as coffee, her adrenals cannot cope? I agree magnesium is a good idea as it is also an adrenal support, there are also non stimulating herbs that assist adrenal function as I am sure you know. I hope these thoughts help. kind regards Maggie wrote: > > > Why do herbs sometimes work and sometimes not! > > Hayfever... > > I was having great success with a young man [26] for hayfever, which > he normally gets May/June/July.
