Guest guest
I think it's best to purchase DMSO in glass bottles only. I would imagine that the DMSO in plastic bottles will contain plastics in the DMSO. Aren't the gels and creams usually in plastic containers? Maybe I'm ultrasensitive to it but I have the roll-on which is 70% DMSO and 30% aloe. The other day I rubbed it on my abdomen where I have occasional pain and although I know it burns, it actually turned my skin bright red. It looked like a classic bulls eye rash (of course it wasn't). Yes, my skin was clean. Has this happened to anyone else? I just caution being careful with it. deb > > >> > > > >> > No cancer!! Guest guest
Hi Deb,That's happened to me. I sometimes roll it on my psoriasis patches (to deliver other medication) and it really hurt/burns for a while. The other night, I put it on my neck, on some normal skin just below my ear for some mastoid pain and the tender skin there got very red for a while. By morning it was normal.Be well,Léna Maybe I'm ultrasensitive to it but I have the roll-on which is 70% DMSO and 30% aloe. Guest guest
Since I don't use very much DMSO I don't worry about the price. I get it at our local vitamin discount store and they sell it in dark glass bottles. The brand is Nature's GIft/ DMSO, Inc () and it's about $20 for 8 ounces. (If I remember right :-) The bottle says 99.9% Pure DMSO on the top, then at the bottom it says 70%DMSO/30% Distilled Water. Considering DMSO is a solvent and will drive just about anything on the surface of the skin into the bloodstream, I would not be comfortable purchasing it in plastic, but to each his own! Hi , Most DMSO today is sold in plastic bottles... The safe plastics are #2, 4 and 5... The link I posted below, the bottle is a #4. http://absolutelypets.stores.yahoo.net/dmpu99li16oz.html http://blog.wellnesstips.ca/blog/?p=28 Take care, Jim A Lymie I know who is on a DMSO group told me a while back it does not matter if the container is glass of plastic.. Apparently since DMSO > > > > >> > > > > > >> > No cancer!! I'm very relieved. I have arthritis in both shoulders > > but I > > > > >> t > > > > >> > don't think that explains the pain. Guest guest
Hi all. I have been reading about the benefit of DMSO so I purchased some for my 17 year old daughter. She has had lyme for 4 years and is being treated by an LLMD. On top of her usual pain she has developed a sharp pain in her hip and knees within the last month. They wake her up at night. Xray at the doctor showed nothing, so she is going to try PT next week. I tried the DMSO on myself first to see how it would feel (if it would burn, etc.). It gave me no reaction, but I have no issues. She tried it on her hip last night and it made it hurt worse so she wiped it off. If she would have "left it on" would it eventually have made the pain feel better? Can you explain to me what may have been happening? Does it drive the spirochetes crazy and make them active? If it drives the spirochetes from the tissues to the blood can the antibiotic then be more effective and kill them easier? Or is DMSO just more of a treatment for the arthritic pain? Guest guest
Good Question , but I know DMSO is good for allot of things . . . .
