Guest guest
Hi Group, My name is Krissy. I am 30 years old and live in NH. I am newly diagnosed with MS this week (welcome to turning 30!). I honestly new nothing about the diease but when you get told this is what you have, you learn awful quickly!!! I am honestly overwhelmed right now with doctors, emotions, and changes so I am looking forward to reading insight from others. I am trying to get through the anger and frustration part as I have tried to be a positive person with a warped sense of humor and have a good outlook but right now I am finding it a little tough. I truly hope that this will pass and it will get better to deal with. Thank you for listening to the newbie vent! Krissy
Guest guest
Welcome aboard, Krissy! First thing to know about MS is that although it may change your life, you still have a life, and it still can be beautiful! Unfortunately, many people you talk to, frequently those who don't know about MS, will act as if you are dying tomorrow--and they don't want to catch it! Here you'll find a group of people who've been, done that, and are living happy and productive lives. Oh, we have our days...but overall, as we say, we have MS, it doesn't have us. BTW, for those of you in NH, I can recommend an excellent neuro in the Lakes Region. Enjoy the day, all! Sam in sunshiney Bahstin kristeninnh wrote: Hi Group, My name is Krissy. Guest guest
Welcome back to the flock, lowrydyer............Hmmm.......by your username............do you have a cycle??? Z. newbie Hi ya'll, I'm 41 yr. old male, was at 338 lbs.when I started my program, now about 297, I'm not a big fan of scales, It's been about a few weeks or so since I weighed myself. I'm new to the group but not to BFL. I started the program 3 years ago, got through about 7 1/2 weeks and got sick, I put it on hold while the doctor ran tests, and never got back on the horse. So, a couple of months ago I went to the doctor with a nasty sinus infection, and he about lost his mind with all the weight that I had put on, and threatend to put me in the hospital, and was talking gastric bypass or the band, I don't do needles, and I don't do hospitals. So, it was my wake up call, " scared straight " , so to speak, I started looking into about every diet and exercise program, and kept coming back to BFL, just seemed to be the best fit for me! Guest guest
Welcome aboard Ron... Hope that the " scared straight " motivation sticks with you for one or more BFL challenges. It has become my lifestyle. Surgerys and illnesses, with the associated setbacks, seem only like speed bumps to me now. I ALWAYS get back on the horse so to speak. You can too. Please join us regularly for questions, answers, and motivation. Thanks for joining up and GOOD LUCK!
