Guest guest
Kelley, Good to hear from you! I can't believe you're on your 4th half marathon already! I remember when you started running! I'm glad you're feeling great. Do you have a goal time for this race? I am in great shape right now. I'm back in all my skinny clothes and my running pace is much faster than it has been in a long while. I have lots of muscle and feel really strong. I plan on doing lots of cycling this summer. I'd like to lose about 3 more lbs and then I think that would put me at about 15% bf. We're leaving for a family vacation to Mexico tomorrow and I am so ready to get out of here. We had a snow storm this week! Who else wants to give us an update?? Terri _____ From: bodyforlife [mailto:bodyforlife ] On Behalf Of KelleyBFL@... Guest guest
Terri, I've been way over busy playing catch-up with repeated work and family crises. Stand by for the big return. .Actually, the only BIG thing about my return will be my body and pant size. Not as big as way back, but, I definitely fell off course so bad that I needed a rescue effort to return to the BFL mother ship. Stay tuned. - - - - - Holowko, CPA, CCP PO Box 444 Lafayette Hill, PA 19444-0444 - - - - - Telephone: - - - - - E-mailto:gholowko@... - - - - - Remember... Guest guest
Had the flu and it lasted about 3 weeks. The Dr. didn't want to prescribe anything. Used to be you would get a prescription at the first sniffle. Anyway, haven't lifted a weight or run since. Need you guys and gals to advise, help me motivate myself, and become better than I was. Guest guest
I had been really good (maybe too good?) with nutrition for awhile and got down to 150 lbs. I almost think that is too thin for me but I've increased my weekly running mileage 20 miles this year over last year so naturally I lost a few lbs. My pants which are now only size 30 are falling off me. Recently, I've had the desire to eat a lot of chocolate and other crap and weight is up to 154 lbs, but I've been hovering around 155 for a long time and it is a pretty good weight for me. I would like to get back on the wagon with good nutrition all of the time even if it means I lose a couple lbs. Since March, I've only managed about 1 weight workout per week since the running has been more strenuous. I'm happy with this right now and is definitely better than none at all. The reason for all this extra running is that I'm training for the Berryman Trail marathon on May 19th. This will be my 9th marathon since 2004 and my first trail marathon. I've always enjoyed trail running and Kelley signed up for her trail half, and then someone mentioned the Berryman to me and how quickly it filled up, so I signed up in January. I'm planning to do the local Heart of America marathon in Columbia on Labor day and am strongly considering a 50K trail ultra marathon on October 28. This will likely fill up quickly so I will make a decision after my trail marathon on May 19th. Since my birthday is Oct 31st I'm thinking the ultra sounds like a good present to myself. I'm even planning ahead to next year. If all continues to go well with running, I may run a 50 miler next year. The Berryman Trail marathon also has a 50 mile ultra on the same day. As long as I do my exercises every week, I've been having good luck with my ankle. At one point, I thought the problems I was having with it would prevent me from ever running an ultra since I was in such bad shape after my marathons. It's given me very little trouble since last May when I visited a physical therapist. I'm now wearing an over the counter orthotic and doing my exercises to strengthen/stretch my ankles and feet. Guest guest
Just go for one workout and I'm sure your good patterns will soon return. Guest guest
I think so. I'm still managing one weight workout per week and actually have gained a few lbs. I'll go back to lifting more whenever I cut back on running. Anyone else care to post an update, Brett??? Andy > > Wow, you're a running machine!! Guest guest
It sounds like you are working really hard! Make sure you post some pics from our show if you can. They are always inspiring. I'm sure your daily work routine burns a lot of calories so probably is a good addition to everything else you are doing. Andy > > Well, hello out there in cyberland. I'm really getting down and dirty since first show is this coming Saturday and the 2nd on is May 12th. My consultant told me she wanted my tummy tight, and prescribed 700 ab reps every other day. *groan*...........well, I found 9 that fit the bill, so I do 4 sets of 25, so this morning that made a total of 900. Jeez, I want visible abs so bad I will do this.........I just hope my iPod is up to the challenge. It takes me almost an hour to get it all done, so have re-arranged my other workouts around it. No more " off " days for me till the 2nd show is over. The cardio is starting to be a challenge also. Last evening when I did it I almost wussed out and quit, my legs were starting to hurt, but I sucked it up and finished. Due to my cutting carbs, etc. now, I am feeling pretty tired, so perhaps I will just have to do the elliptical on the " 1 " setting for the allotted time and not worry about upping the resistance. If my stupid daily work wasn't so physically demanding, I could probably handle it better. I will do what I am able to do and not worry about the rest. (well, maybe not worry TOO MUCH about it...........LOL) > > Z. >
