I seem to remember a mold discussion somewhere recently…

can’t remember which forum it was on!

Basically, we have a side door that is not well

sealed. Not something we knew when buying the house unfortunately. Well,

it rarely rains here in Las Vegas,

but the first time it rained pretty hard, we noticed some water around the

bottom of the doorway. We cleaned it up and all was good.

Well, fast forward a year (or more) and it rained really

hard here a couple of weeks ago. Totally didn’t think about the

doorway (it’s in a room only the kids go in, and they don’t go in

there much). Well, there were some boxes beside the door and well, hubby

decided to move one of them. Underneath he found the carpet all

mold-y. Ewwww!

So, does anyone have any good solutions for moldy carpet? I’m

thinking MMS – somewhere I saw just to set some in the room by it and it

will help kill the mold. And some kind of light? I tried searching

the archives and well, we know how that went!

What is sad is this house is only 4 years old at most. We

found out a few months ago, that the builder is in a class action law suit –

Lennar – with the whole Chinese drywall thing… which by the

way is exacerbated by water! Funny how my daughter never had asthma until

we moved in here! And how my migraines got worse! It’s just a

stinkin’ chemistry experiment in here! Makes my Lyme more

complicated… I wish there was a way we could afford to move out!

Would love some input on the mold…
