I knew about Stills way before I was diagnosed because my cousin who I was extremely close to had it. He was diagnosed with JRA when he was only 10 years old. He suffered valiantly with the disease for 20+ years, but passed away 3 years ago from paricarditis which they said was an effect of the Stills. Never once complaining about the pain and the surgeries he had to undergo to replace all of his major joints. He was someone I looked up to and my hero. We were 10 months apart in age. I have suffered for almost a year without knowing what was wrong with me. All my test results came back negative until they tested my Ferratin levels and they were through the roof. When that came back, the doctors started connecting the dots from the rashes, unexplained fevers, night sweats to painful joints. I have told my family and some of them have said to me that it's just a fancy name for plain old arthritis and that hurts to hear because they haven't gone through the night sweats, the rashes, fevers and crippling pain for the past year. They haven't been from doctor to doctor and been told that we have run all the tests and there is nothing wrong with you. Am I wrong for being upset and scared?? I just need a little support. Any that you can give would help me feel a little better. Thank You and God Bless Marie
