Charlotte,

I am sorry to hear about all that is going on with you. Just to give you perspective, you have exercised way more than I have this week. LOL! I am taking a break for a minute but only minute. Keep up the great work!

workout report

This has been a very stressful week or so for me...

Are you sure? For my great total for all minutes would only be about twenty,

including today. Some days are just like that. LOL. I am committed to coming

back. In that vein, I'm now logging my time in a book. Now that's! a

motivator. Nothing like putting down 4 minutes into a log, and going, mmmmm,

maybe I should do a little more. LOL.

guess I'm not expressing myself well. I just don't want to be so wrapped up in my fading looks that I ignore how I treat others, and have no peace in my life because I can't have what I want -- myself at a younger age.

Charlotte:

I read your post and thought it very moving. I have been thinking about my fading beauty, and the lengths gone to keep it. The volume is turned up as I am approaching my 46th birthday. It hurts to considered less than as I get older. Say what you will, but people see your differently and it hurts.

The other day, and woman asked if it was my grandchild playing in front of my house. It was -- but the point is the woman did not assume I was his mother. Therefore, my appearance must have suggested my age.

Doing taebo -- and fitness in general helps me a great deal. If I am lucky enough to reach my 70th birthday, I hope I can do it reaching and stretching instead of lashing out at others.

I wrote more but deleted it for brevities' sake. A youthful appearance is considered so valuable in this society...yet, it is something that is transient. There was another woman in the drug store who was also older (and looked ill) but she didn't treat anyone with derision...and she seemed more at peace with herself than the other richer woman. Of the two women, she was actually the more attractive woman because of that inner peace she radiated. If I have a choice, I do want to age with dignity, finding my worth in more than what I look like.

Everything comes in cycles -- I know that I will have another life where I again will have the bloom of youth...that will fade again into mature age. There is a time and place for everything thing -- even youth.

I agree Charlotte, I don't want that for myself either! WTG on your workouts!

12 minutes today, with 2 minutes of Ab work, with no problem. I could increase tomorrow but I will wait until Monday. I do not want to over reach myself again. :)

My husband has brought home yet another kitten. She's about 7 weeks old, a fluffy tabby. Cute.... however I'm feeling a bit crowded these days.....

It's a new drug that just came out in April of last year. It's called Lyrica -- it's for diabetic nerve pain, but I'm not using it for that...because it has an interesting side affect that helps nerves grow back that have been damaged.

I have nerve degeneration from Sjogren's Syndrome. Basically, my immune system is destroying my nerves. That's why I haven't been able to push my workout longer. But my symptoms are abating, and I have more endurance than before -- all due to this new drug. :)

It's amazing how much this one drug is helping me to improve. And it's not even illegal. LOL.

What is it for, if I can ask? Congrats on a nice workout!

Charlotte,

What drug are you taking?

workout report

Today I did about 6 minutes abs, and then 16 in working out. I find with this new drug that I'm physically improving so I'm gently testing how far I can go. I wasn't strained or shaking or any of that. Just a bit sweaty, and a bit worked out. Tomorrow I'll try 17, and so on, until I find the magic number. :) My goal has always been to be able to complete my workout tapes.

I also noticed, finally, an improvement on my ability to do stomach exercises. I can do more at a deeper level. Yeah, me. :)
