If you have pseudomonas bacteria in your lungs it is doubtful to get rid of it. Antibiotics help to keep their numbers down. Sputum cultures will show what level of infection. It is important to keep a close link with healthcare professionals and find what is best to manage the condition. It is important not to be slack about our health. Gather as much knowledge as required. There are good doctors out there. You have quite a lot on your plate and I hope you have good support. Wish you well

Stay strong Myriam To: bronchiectasis Sent: Wednesday, May 27, 2009 8:51:33 AMSubject: New Member Introduction Hi all, I was officially diagnosed with bronchiectasis in 1992. I did get whooping cough as a baby before I was to be vaccinated. In 1991 I contracted non infectious atypical TB. I was very active as a young person, but noticed an annoying cough developing from 18 years of age. by the end of the 80's mucous production was a real problem. Eventually I was considered having adult onset CF. Daily lung clearance has become part of my everyday life for many years. I am usually on quite a few medications and have regular check ups. I have tried to keep up a normal life as possible. I try to do some study when I am well. I work part time. I have lost a marriage due to decline in health and ongoing depression. Friends are important, and it is good to have an interest to get us away from our worries. Bouts of fatigue are common, however I have stayed out of hospital for years re bronchiectasis. Looking forward to the group's input. We can learn from each other as we are mainly in the same boat.. Cheers
