Hi Group,My name is Krissy. I am 30 years old and live in NH. I am newly diagnosed with MS this week (welcome to turning 30!). I honestly new nothing about the diease but when you get told this is what you have, you learn awful quickly!!! I am honestly overwhelmed right now with doctors, emotions, and changes so I am looking forward to reading insight from others. I am trying to get through the anger and frustration part as I have tried to be a positive person with a warped sense of humor and have a good outlook but right now I am finding it a little tough. I truly hope that this will pass and it will get better to deal with.Thank you for listening to the newbie vent!Krissy

I totally understand..... when I was 30 I was dx with MS too. I am 31 now and

it will be a yr since my dx on May 7th. It was difficult at first, I was sooooo

and still get so angry. You are doing the positive thing by going on support

groups and finding all the information you can. I was on disability from May to

July complete rest was needed. Now I am just fine on the outside. I walk just

fine. There are days I get tired and my back hurts sometimes, but other than

that I am ok. I chose to take the Copaxon drug to manage my ms, vitamins and

depression meds to deal with any mood swings. I am single no kids, when I first

was told I have ms I was so worried that no one would want to be with me, would

want the responsability but I soon realized that MS is not that bad if managed

and I have also found that there are men out there that are caring and loving

and no MS will change that.

This was an eye opener for me. I now am more responsable and are more involved

with the things that really matter.

This year I am participating in my first MS WALK in Tulsa. I was a little

apprehensive to ask for money from my co-workers because I kinda didn't want

them knowing I had MS. Most of the already know but I was real surprised ot

find that alot of them didn't. I created a bio of my condition and placed it by

the donation sheet in our local lounge. I had so many individuals come up to me

and tell me they didn't know " but you look fine " ... they would say and I had

many tell me that they had friend and family members with MS. I was delighted

to have raised $1,000.00 just from my co-workers.

It may seem like the walls are closing in on you right now, but things will get

better. It is just going to take time, patience and exercise. Now is the time

where you realize who your real friends are and who were not. What matters most

to you and what really didn't matter at all.

Let me know if you want to chat anytime..... ok yahoo msg is
