No. But women often experience changes in bowel activity either way around

their period. so if vitex is adjusting hormones this could be part of the

picture. Or just a liver stimulus from morning aromatic? congestion often

present with lymphy symptoms.

Vitex drops & loose stools?

Hi,

I have a px who I am treating for cyclical breast tenderness. She is on

30gtt mane of a 1:3 preparation. She has developed loose stools and equates

its onset her taking the Vitex.

Has anyone experienced this with Vitex?

All the best,

Jeanette

No, but I did have a friend who prescribed herself Vitex for PMT, and

had to reduce the dose, because it produced dysmenorrhea

Incidentally, a patient recently phoned me to ask if her mixture could

be causing loose stools, and as she was just under 70, and had fairly

severe symptoms, I had decided to try 5ml tds rather 2.5ml tds so was a

bit worried that I'd overdone the bitters (arthritis). So I told her

to switch to 2.5 ml and assured her I would consider

reformulating...... At which point, she said Oh be careful if you

change it, it's really working!

So I thought...... She's less worried about this than me

Perhaps I should have checked the good

effects as well

I wonder if there is something in the old

puke & purge theory

NOT advocating a return to P & P, but food for thought, and she seems

to be doing well on 2.5ml; .......bowels back to normal:........... and

very happy with treatment.

Sorry, I just reread this, I meant menorrhagia

Too many late nights and a bit much echinacea I think!
