Guest guest
He probably has difficulty digesting carbs. Try some digestive enzymes. If that helps you know where to go. --- isobel wrote: > Hi > I have a 55 year old man who's been coming to me > since October last year with a mild gastric > discomfort which comes on in the mornings, after > breakfast. Guest guest
Hi Isobel, has he had any endoscopy? Sorry to be morbid but stomach cancer can give very mild symptoms for a long time, just like you describe (my step-mother had a very similar pattern of symptoms and it took 2 years before she was diagnosed with stomach cancer, by which time it was too late to do much). It is most likely something quite benign in the case of your patient, I just tend to be a bit paranoid when anything like that comes up ... > Hi > I have a 55 year old man who's been coming to me > since October last year with a mild gastric > discomfort which comes on in the mornings, after > breakfast. Guest guest
Yes, , it's certainly crossed my mind too - he has had an endoscopy, but not since he first had the symptoms before he came to see me - do you think it's possible they've missed something. I've wondered whether I should push for another one, although he has been back to a gastroenterologist very recently.... Thanks for other input so far - I was sure I had tried probiotics but I've looked back over the records and I haven't so I'll try that. Non - I have tried him on a much more bitter mix with no change, but not on simple bitters - what dose would you suggest - would it be a specific time before eating? Thanks to everyone so far - any more thoughts welcome! Isobel Re: stumped Hi Isobel, has he had any endoscopy? Guest guest
Isobel, they shouldn't have but that depends whether they went the whole length (or either end). Let us know if he responds to bitters and probiotics. isobel wrote: Yes, , it's certainly crossed my mind too - he has had an endoscopy, but not since he first had the symptoms before he came to see me - do you think it's possible they've missed something.
