Hi DianeI'm sorry to hear you are having so much trouble, I'm 72 years old and had bronchiectasis for 20 years and now is severe, I'm proud of you, that you do your postural drainage, do you have a vest and a acapella and do you use it? do you get anything out when you do your postural drainage? I don't and I don't do much neither the vest and acapella because it makes me cough blood. It must be more difficult with small children when you don't feel good. I do suffer from depression and take medication for it, and see a psychologist once a week and it help a lot. You are not a downer that's what we are here for, I do a lot of whinning

Good luck Myriam

Hi everyone,

I'm so glad I found this group because I really need someone to talk to who knows what I'm going through and how I'm feeling. I am 39 years old and have had bronchiectasis all of my life. I didn't really get properly diagnosed with bronchiectasis until I was in my twenty's. I was previously told that I had asthma but I didn't think I did. Finally, I found a chest specialist who finally told me what I really had. The older I get, the worse I feel my bronchiectasis has got. This past winter has been especially hard on me. I got several chest infections which put me out of commission for several weeks. I hate being on antibiotics - they make me feel terrible. I try and do my postural drainage daily, although sometimes I forget - or I just don't do it because I feel good. I know this is wrong and I need to be more diligent about it. I really want to do whatever I can so that I can

have a better quality of life. I have 2 wonderful girls aged 7 and 3 and and a wonderful and supportive husband that I want to be around for, for a very long time. When I get sick and feel terrible I seem to get very down and depressed and start having terrible thoughts and I don't want to. I have also recently gone to see a naturopath to see what I can do to boost my immune system so that I can try and fight off illness before it gets to me. Unfortunately when you have 2 young kids, they tend to bring home viruses from school - and there's nothing I can do about that. Hopefully that will improve as the kids get older. I don't really mean to be a downer but I'm just so sick and tired of being sick and tired. I would love to hear from others who may be going through what I am right now. Hope you are all well.

Diane
