Re: haemorroids Posted by: " Annette Wass " annette@... wass115 Sat Oct 29, 2011 6:39 am (PDT) one of my patients finds my homemade pilewort ointment the only thing that works for him ( pile wort leaves infused in oil twice and then set with beeswax -wrong time of year to make it though !) regards ,annette ps have a spare jar if you wanted to try it - contact me off list if interested Re: Dispensary/ Herb Costs I am obviously cheap! I charge £6 per 100ml with £1 off for concessions (if specifically asked) and am just about to bring in a £5 charge for repeats as some weeks I seem to do nothing else! I also charge for postage if sending out (more or less at cost). However I make most of my own tinctures so the bottom line price per 100ml is pennies but it is time consuming if you make a lot therefore the price per 100ml reflects my time rather than a profit margin. Encouraging patients to return bottles and re-using them (washed and sterilised of course) is also becoming more of a saving as the cost of bottles has gone up dramatically since I started 5 years ago. a Back to top Reply to sender | Reply to group | Reply via web post Messages in this topic (5) 3a. Re: Cardio myopathy Posted by: " M " maggers_pope@... maggers_pope Sat Oct 29, 2011 7:54 am (PDT) I would build nervine action round Avena, which has a tonic action on the heart and is said to increase a person's 'mental strength'. We were taught that it was a restorative nervine with a stimulant action - thymoleptic and antidepressant. Graves - eye involvement Posted by: " andy12hughes " andrea@... andy12hughes Sat Oct 29, 2011 8:40 am (PDT) I have just seen a 43 year old lady with Insulin Dependent Diabetes and newly dx (3 weeks) Graves disease. She is particularly anxious about the appearance of her eyes, she has swelling underneath both eyes as a result of the proptosis and lid lag on the left eye. ( prescribed eye drops helping the dryness and pain) Her thyroid symptoms are under control with carbimazole (40mg) but it is the Ophthalmopathy that worries her the most as the changes are quite marked. Is it possible that we can assist with herbs for the Ophthalmopathy - thinking to treat with autoimmune model, maybe Tumeric. Not sure if it is worth going in with the lycopus and lithosperm etc as she is really not worried about the carbimazole and is happy to stay with it. She is also asking me repeatedly if there is anything topical she can do for the puffiness. I am not sure if it would be effective as the puffiness comes from the proptosis? Does anyone have any experience or ideas? Would be most grateful for input. many thanks Back to top Reply to sender | Reply to group | Reply via web post Messages in this topic (1) Recent Activity 1 New Members Visit Your Group Yahoo!
