1) I was jut reading through the web site and read through the

polls....now that I think back...I used to get strept throat every

other month or so in high school - it became less frequent as I got

older but I still get it maybe three or four times a year....I did

have it in 1992 and ended up with scarlet fever - I also had strept

throat in September(2003) and early January (2004).....I also had

mono in 1996 which turned into a blood clot....I also had chicken

pox as a child....when I first had my symptoms here my doctor

initially though I had a viral infection from the strept throat not

totally going away.....

Is there any correlation to these diseases and MS????

2) how long into dating someone do you tell them you have MS??? My

current other half has no idea on what is going on but that is cuz

he is away - I will tell himwhen I get a diagnosis....but if things

do not work out with him and I am back into the scene how long do I

wait to tell them???

I for myself don't see a correlation between those diseases and MS. I just know that MS is a central nervous system disease and if your immune system was low due to the other infections than it could possibly be more susceptible to an MS attack.

I am in the dating scene and it was difficult at first to tell guys that I was dating. I didn't tell them unless I knew I really liked them and wanted to see them more often. The one I am dating currently just asked me if I was sick alot from work for a reason and I just told him. It didn't make a difference at all. Actually it was better for me that way when we made our dates he knew that I really couldn't sit for long periods of time or that I wouldn't want to go out for mixed drinks. Other than I have no limitations. But it is best that he knows. I take a daily injection which I have out on my kitchen counter to remind me to take it each evening. So I knew if he was ever to come over to visit he would see that along with the MSWALK hat and plaque I have... course that would be a dead giveaway. hee hee. I am not ashamed of my MS. So, whomever is with me or around me will soon know about it since I am involved with various MS groups and activities.

Have a Super Day ! :o)

I am involved with various MS groups and activities.

I have wanted to get involved but there seems to be nothing in Dallas....amazing...Ft.Worth, yes, but too far for me on a regular basis....my kids figured I would since we have been very active in Diabetes Walks since my daughter's diagnosis 6 1/2 years ago......

Wow, that is a tough question. I asked my wife to marry me one week before I got my diagnoses, and when I did I tried to get out of the marriage because I didn't want to have anyone share my life with this "dreadful" illness. The thing is, this is not the 800 lbs gorilla that it has been made out to be. You need to arm yourself with all the information you can on MS. It is the most misunderstood illness in the world. Learn about new medication. How do you feel? Do you lack energy? Do you suffer from fatigue? Do you have other symptoms? The thing is, the right person will not care that you have MS and the wrong person will not. If you are relatively healthy and able to get out and about, then MS will come up during the course of time. If you are tired, fatigued, need help, then perhaps it should be fairly soon. Basically, if your symptoms causes someone to ask, then answer direct questions with direct answers. If you have a relatively good life, with today's new medicines that were not around even six years ago, there is no reason why that should not continue.
