PROGRAMME

Friday 21 October 2011 – Dr

1.00 pm Biochemical tests in clinical practice: the normal range, biochemistry profiling, C-reactive protein

2.15 pm Break

2.30 pm Haematology tests in clinical practice: the Coulter counter profile, red cell parameters and anaemia, other cellular components, erythrocyte sedimentation rate

3.45 pm Break

4.10 pm Lipid profiles: cholesterol and lipoproteins, HDL and LDL, triglycerides, hyperlipoproteinemia

4.45 pm Thyroid function tests: TSH, thyroxine, triiodothyronine, free T4 , free T3, thyroid antibodies, hyper- and hypothyroidism

5.30 pm Questions & Answers

6.00 pm End of session.

Saturday 22 October 2011 – Kate Neil

9.30 am A case for functional assessment in Complementary Therapy Practice

10.45 am Break

11.00 am The primary role of the digestive tract and detoxification in health: functional assessment, interpretation and potential impact of digestive imbalances on nutrient status

1.00 pm Lunch

2.15 pm Food allergy and intolerance: which tests to use, and how to interpret

3.35 pm Break

4.00 pm Adrenal stress: assessment and interpretation

4.45 pm Case presentation

5.30 pm End of session

Critical questions will be taken during presentations, and Questions & Answers at the end of each session.

Venue: The Lecture Theatre, Furnival Building, 10 Highgate Hill, London N19 5NF (Underground: Archway).

A buffet lunch will be provided on the Saturday, as well as refreshments during breaks.
