Totally Frustrated

Hi,

This only my second time to post to this group. I have read many of

the other postings and have learned so much. Thank You

I am very frustrated with my mom's family doctor. I took her in for

a follow-up visit from her recent hospital stay. Mom is doing better

and is more " normal " acting right now. She is helping do laundry and

dishes and carries on a fairly normal conversation most time. This

is the best she has been for some time. My problem with the doctor

is that he came in the room and told her she looked better and then

said " well you know that we all have to die sometime " . I was totally

shocked and didn't know what to say and mom just stared at him. He

then told her that her blood pressure was a little high (170/80) and

asked her if anyone in her family had heart problems or if she had.

This dr has treated her for more than 12 years and she is currently

taking 3 prescriptions for her heart. I was totally frustrated. He

wants her to have a nuclear test on her heart but didn't say why.

They can't schedule that until mid October.

I called my brother who is an RN at an Indianapolis heart hospital

and told him. He said to call one of their cardiologist and see if

they would see her next week.

Mom seems to be feeling ok, no complaints about her heart. She is

tired alot and kinda shaky when walking.

Thanks for letting me vent. I just don't know what was going on with

the doctor yesterday and now mom is very upset and acting more

nervous than usual. I don't want his " STUPID " comment to tear down

what I feel we have built back up.
