Guest guest
Such a wonder isn't it! Seeing a grandchild born. Last October 21st I got to see my first great grandchild born. It was an awesome experience. How many great grandmas even live to see their ggrandkids, much the less have the awesome chance to see the actual birth? What an awesome privilege I am totally in love with the little dickens too. I can't stay depressed when I see him, he cheers me no matter what is going on in my life......a total and complete joy in my life. Just had to share this under Happy News! dash Re: ~CYN~ Some Happy News! Cam, is 28 years old, and this is her second child. Her first child, , was born before she was married. I'll never forget when I found out she was pregnant with him. She and her boyfriend stopped by the house, it was close to Christmas, and as usual she was wearing a heavy sweater. She said, " Mom, I have something to tell you " and lifted her sweater. I nearly died on the spot when I saw her belly! She was 6 months gone, and looked every day of it! I barely knew , her boyfriend, but I wasn't really pleased with him. He had daughter by another girl already, and I thought was just another in what would be a long list of girlfriends to be dumped after getting pregnant. Then for Christmas he gave her a beautiful engagement ring, a marquis diamond with a brilliant on either side. That diamond is huge! said they weren't in any hurry to get married, and she asked me if I'd be there with her when she had the baby. By the time she gave birth, on April 23, she looked like she was carrying twins! I stayed with her while she was in labor. I had to fight with my supervisor to get the time off, and then the store manager (I worked for a bookstore at the time) got up in the supervisor's face and said " for God's sake, her daughter is having her first baby. Let her have the time off! The supervisor wasn't happy, because it meant he would have to do my job, which he hated. 's labor was easy (maybe she got that from me....my longest labor was 6 1/2 hours, and that was my first child) and we just talked and I did some bobbin lace, which decided she wanted to learn later when she had time.(she still hasn't had time, lol!) Since she had an epidural, she couldn't feel the contractions except as mild pressure, but when she went into transition (the part where the contractions come one after the other with no break in between) the doctor had her push, and suddenly I had a grandson! got to hold him first, and I took a picture of her as they handed her . was standing beside her, and he looked like he couldn't believe what he'd just witnessed. He took the baby from and just stared at him, then handed him to me. I really couldn't believe it; I was holding the child of my child. and set their wedding date for October 26, which is, coincidentally, mine and 's anniversary. is my second husband, and we'd only been married a couple of years. So it was a great way to celebrate our anniversary, by attending my daughter's wedding. There's a beautiful photo of taking from someone, she has such a look of love on her face and I keep asking her for a copy of that photo...I'm going to steal it soon! has turned out to be a wonderful husband to . He takes her away on romantic trips, and he also makes sure his daughter is part of the family. Noel spends every weekend with them, and I was very touched the first time she called me Grandma. My first husband was a heavy pot user, and got into the heavier drugs. There were some things that happened that nearly destroyed me, and I decided divorce was the only answer. Guest guest
Dash, It really is a wonder! And then to watch him or her grow, and remember when your own child was that size. My daughter is a wonderful mother, and I am constantly amazed at what a great job she's doing with . One day I was sitting in her kitchen, watching her with and I asked her where she'd learned such patience and great mothering skills and she turned to me and said " from you " ! That really choked me up, because I'd always felt like I could have been a better mother to my children, but seeing the results and hearing from my daughter's own mouth just brought tears to my eyes. cyn At 09:11 AM 7/18/2004 -0700, dash wrote: >Such a wonder isn't it!
