Another issue with the combo units is that if, for example, the ultrasound part needs to be serviced and has to be sent out, you lose the use of all three modalities.Carol Helfer, DVMPortland, ORTo: VetRehab From: AKramer@...Date: Tue, 20 Jul 2010 13:57:40 +0000Subject: Re: Equipment Question

Personally I have never liked combo units because only one person can use it at a time. For example, when I am using the US on a dog, the other therapist who may need the Laser at the same time will have to wait until the unit is available. I am all for separate units so that multiple patients can be treated at once. Sent via BlackBerry by AT & TFrom: "tina.fuoco" <tina.fuoco>

Subject: Equipment Question

I'm currently purchasing equipment to start a new rehab practice. I've been looking into lasers and came across Ferno's combo unit with Laser, Ultrasound and Electrotherapy. Does anyone have experience with this unit? Does it get good reviews? Any information would be helpful.

Thanks,

Tina

Hello Everyone,

We have a Shor-Line Hydro Physio HP 200 UWTM and for the past month I have noticed the temperature does not seem to ever reach the designated temp. I have called around to find out who would service our treadmill, but the general concensus appears to be we don't work on that equipment. Has anyone had a similar issue with the temperature gauage malfunctioning? If so, who have you all found that will service such an issue. Luckily, it's not broken, but I would like to get this problem resolved before it gets cold.

We have a Shor-line Hydrophysio UWTM and love it. It is easy to clean and maintain. We have the regular length treadmill and I have treated a Great Dane and Saint Bernard. The glass sides make it easy for the owner to view the dog walking and we have a camera set up for myself or my tech to view the dog walking while we are in the water with them. It opens from both ends and will run in both directions, sounds like it is not so important but I have had patients who would not walk in from one end of the treadmill! In addition, it is important for larger dogs with back injuries or post-op to not have to spin around in the treadmill to walk. We are in Nebraska so our customer service has been great since Shor-line is in Kansas. We have a Q1000 LASER with the 660 and 808 probes as well as a Harmony LASER. WE LOVE OUR HARMONY LASER! The Q1000 works great for small dogs and superficial lesions-

due to treatment times.I have two NMES handheld units that were less than $100 each and they work great. I think it is nice to have the equipment separate so we can treat two patients at the same time. Just my two cents!-- Beck, DVM, CCRTBacklund Animal ClinicCanine Rehabilitation and Wellness2616 South 158th PlazaOmaha, NE 68130Phone Fax

We kept a thermometer in the storage tank when we first got the treadmill and then determined how many degrees difference there were between our set temperature and what the storage tank was at then set the temperature for that difference...that is what shor-line recommended and we have not had a problem since.

Have you reset the heater on the pump/filtration unit? Sometimes when the power gets interrupted to ours (ie thunderstorm), the actual temperature in the storage tank won't read the same as what is on the digital display. There should be a little red button on the pump unit where the manual thermostat is that says heat reset (or something similar to that- I"m not standing in front of our unit to read it verbatim). Try pushing that and give it an hour or so to heat up the water, then check again. Feel free to contact me off-list if you need more information.

Thank you for all the suggestions. I did call Shor-line yesterday and Hays told me he thinks my heater is broken. We will end up having to buy a new heating mechanism.
