Guest guest
I have another problem with the concept of the " toning " shoes for people with Chiari. Many of us have permanent central vertigo. I have days a can barely walk a straight line in bear feet, never mind a shoe based on the concept of instability training. These shoes may be great for people without vertigo, in fact I have a healthy friend who loves the Sketchers brand. But I tried them on and they scared the dickens out of me.Now, New Balance has come out with a new shoe that seems more promising. It has rounded heel strike and toe box area and added cushioning to absorb impact. I'm going to give them a try this week and I'll post back with my opinion. Oh, I tried Earth shoes. Not good for people with EDs. They put too much stretch on the Achillies tendon. They are also not good for people with tethered cord for the same reason. I was an avid walker for a while (plan on being so again) and I loved New Balance and for women, Ryka. They come in various lasts and widths (especially NB) and almost anyone can find a great fit and excellent function at a good price.
