Guest guest
Carri I am praying hard for you and the baby. I know how scary it can be to have your baby premature. I had Tim at 32 weeks. He did extremely well considering how early he was! He weighed 4 lb 4 oz at birth and was only in the incubator for about 2 1/2 weeks. He didn't need a respirator and although he did have apnea he was doing quite well! The day before he turned one month old he was able to come home. (we had to wait for the apnea attacks to stop) This was over 22 years ago! They barely had medical knowledge back then! lol So, even if he comes early I am confident that he will be fine. I know bed rest sucks. Keep laying down and stay there unless you have to go to the restroom. Seriously.... don't do anything else and just try to relax. Sitting up all the way isn't even a good idea at this point. Guest guest
Hey , I know first hand how the best rest at this stage is! Zoe tried to come at 20 weeks and I had mag for 4 days and then sent home on a terbutaline pump for complete bed rest until she finally came at 36! You have made it past the critical stage so congrats!! I learned a lot since getting pregnant with Zoe and apparently births before 30 weeks are at a great risk for CP. So good job mommy! You've given your baby extra brain growth!! A little trick to keep those contractions down... drink as much water as you can during the day. For some reason, water will lower the contractions... never did learn the technical reason why but it works great (plus my skin never looked better during that time! haha). Good luck with the rest of the pregnancy. Zoe was born with a complete AV canal defect and she had her surgery at 6 months when she was 11 pounds. I've been through it so if I can help... e-mail me!!! Suzanne
