Ron,

I agree and always told people if it hadn't been for this group, I think I might

have died in this process. I had no dx, no one here with me, and no siblings to

help. And Mom didn't sleep well, so I was tired to boot.

That is why I stayed after Mom died. It was painful enough, if I could help one

other in any way, it was worth it. So thanks for your email. It sounds like it

has bee worth it.

Hugs,

Donna R

Caregave for Mom (after I brought her from WI to MI) for 3 years and 4th year in

She was almost 89 when she died in '02. No dx other than mine.

wonderful group of people

Hello all, I have nothing in particular to write about this Sunday morning but I

just wanted to say that each and every one of you in this group have meant as

great deal to me through this lbd caregiving experience with my mother. Some of

you Ive corrisponded with and some I havent had the chance yet but I read

everything and feel very close to all. What a wonderful group of people you all

are. This group has changed my life.I havent felt alone and up against it like I

used to feel since the first day I joined the group.Thats all I wanted to say

today and I hope you all can take the oppertunity today to pat yourselves on the

back and and say good job because not only are you changing your lovedones lives

by doing what you do, but through this group each and every one of you are

changing my mothers and mine. Love to all

Hey Ron!

It's wonderful that you find this group such a support, as so many of us have.

When my

mom was first diagnosed with LBD after crashing from her Parkinsons meds in

2001, I

looked for information about LBD and did not find this group. I coped, as a

long distance

caregiver, 1 hour away, working full time, mother of 3, 2 dogs, 1 husband.

Clearing out

her apartment alone on the weekends, while supporting and advocating for her in

retirement living took 6 months. Then she crashed and entered nh life, with

diagnosis of

LBD with Parkinsons. I was burned out but kept advocating for her and blindly

doing what

I could until I found this group. Like so many of us, finding others out there

going

through what I was in their own way was so very supportive, informative. That

was 2 1/2

years ago. I have found support for many end of life decisions, much needed

sharing and

caring here whenever needed. Stay with us. Some have gone your journey in our

own

way, some of us still are. We understand.

Mother, age 92, died Aug. 12/06 after 13 year decline from PDD

Ron, and you changed our lives too. You are a doll. (I am old so I can say

that and get away with it.) You have a load on your hands, and it is very

special of you to care for your mother. Not many men would.

Give yourself a pat on the back, and give yourself a break once in a while

just to get away from the tremendous load of 24/7 care giving.

We love you too, Ron.
