Guest guest
What a wonderful visit you must have had with Jan. I haven't been lucky enough to meet her and I know a lot of cgs who have been just as lucky as you. Have a good day. Hugs, Donna R Caregave for Mom (after I brought her from WI to MI) for 3 years and 4th year in a nh. She was almost 89 when she died in '02. No dx other than mine. Catch up I'm back on the List. I don't know for how long, and sure am sorry I missed your letters, but as you know it can't always be helped. I do want you all to know, that I may be writing out of turn, but I am so excited I can't be quiet. Our very own dear Jan Colello came to Texas with her cousin, and we had a wonderful visit! I was thrilled out of my gourd to see her. She has always been a very special lady on my list of caregivers and I was almost as happy to see her as I would have been to see one of my own sisters. She is sharing this LBD journey with me as well as the rest of you, and I so love her for the way she has shared. She is a remarkable, beautiful, person. Her cousin, a nurse, and cute as a button, left the lunch and got her camera, and I can't wait for the photos. She said she would share them on the LBD photo page. I can't tell her cousin, Lori, how much I appreciate her bringing Jan to see me. It was a beautiful gift indeed. My Don, was as perfect as anyone could have been. I was so proud of him during his " showtime. " He wasn't scrambled one bit. We had a beer while waiting, and he was relaxed and not nervous about meeting new people, so it was just as well I didn't have sense enough to tell Jan where we were. She went into every single restaurant in the Market Square, until she found the bright flowered jacket I told her I would be wearing. I felt bad that I told her wrong, and she had to find us, but it did give Don a chance to gather his wits. I knew he was stressed, because he told me everything to do while driving to the restaurant. I was nearly crazy when we got there, but thank heavens when I parked and caught my breath from the trip. About fifteen miles downtown. Going home he didn't say a word about my driving. That is why I knew he was up tight. The beer helped him. Shoot, while I was at it I had two. We had a wonderful time, and I won't ever forget seeing one lady I love very much. Thank you again dear Jan for coming to San . Be as happy as I am now folks it makes the tough times better. Imogene Caregiver for my true Texas Gentleman Husband of 36 years. Guest guest
Hi, my dear Donna. Yes, it is a visit I will always cherish. I also appreciated that she included Don in the conversation, and talked directly to him with respect and attentiveness. She knew his need. (he was at his best form, thank goodness It did him a lot of good) It was a real priviledge to meet her, and her cousin Lori, and Lori's friend Jerry. It made for a happy fun occasion. You have no idea how much my love poured out in my heart for her, knowing what she has been through, and how badly she needed this respite. I wanted it to be just that for her.
