Hi,

Has anyone treated this? Px has chronic symptoms of colitis. I have

treated colitis many times, just asking of c diff treatments

specifically?

Thanks

The c diff I have treated responded well to Saccharomyces boulardii

I've not treated this, but did research it, for prophylaxis with

methoxycillin use (The main causative factor, I think).

What I found was evidence suggesting that Sachyromyces (beer yeast) and

Hops had both been found effective, leading me to think that the

practice of drinking small beer rather than water in pre-industrial

times had even more to recommend it than the often cited sterilant

effect of the alcohol.

And that elderly patients or relatives in hospital might usefully

benefit from a regular gift of real ale.

Obviously anybody actually taking methoxycillin could not use this, as

alcohol is strictly contra indicated.

I'd also, of course, consider the usual colitis remedies to improve

bowel tissue condition and function, and promote beneficial flora.
