Guest guest
I cannot say nothing will change, change is inevitable, but may not be as bad as you think. As the main fluid comes from the prostate and this will be removed, love making will never be quite the same. However there will be dry orgasm and you may need help with erections, there is a high of possibility of a happy love life, but you must share your needs and concerns with your partner and medical advisers. . Most couples find that they have to work round the changes in a loving way. We find we have a different type of relationship following surgery and there are various different results depending on among other things what the surgeon finds when he gets in there. I have tried to ease your concerns without telling you untruths. Best wishes for your surgery. Before finishing this note I want to check that you have been given other options - we don't advocate one treatment just patients and their partners being well informed. The other main options are radioative seeds, radiation beams, cryotherapy, keyhole surgery, and if the tumour is small and slow growing active monitoring. Guest guest
I was treated at RCoG in 2000 and had brachytherapy. Although there is by now only a small amount of discharge, there is still a very satisfying yet different orgasm. Strangely, I've taken on a new lease or life in that whole department, worse than a rabbit....so don't worry about it! regards
Guest guest
2 years post [nerve sparing] radical prostatectomy here, No ejaculation. No fluid. However, the climax is unchanged. The sensation is intense and feels no different than before. You feel as though you have ejaculated to the point of reaching for tissue. Just no fluid. jb
Guest guest
BILL GAMMON INC Computer updated and scanned every 24 hrsE-Mails scanned in and out I just joined this group, so as to break the ice, I will tell you what happened to me. My Dr got a little suspicious when my numbers went up to 4.9. Sent me to the Urology clinic where the specialist did the usual tests and determined that I had an infection, but was not sure. Put me on pills which in subsequence tests took my numbers to 4.1, 3.9, 3.1, but he kepting saying that he was not satisfied and that there was something bothering him. Sent me for an ultrasound and possible biopsy. Before going farther this Dr had his prostrate taken out and he was also the head of Urology for the city where I live. OK, got to the ultrasound the guy there wonders why the specialist sent me there, does the procedure found out that the one side of the prostate was slightly larger then the other, did the biopsy and Bingo, all six probes come back positive. Two weeks later, after many personal decision as to what to do, which way to go, and how to handle it mentally, March 24 2003 out it came. I will not, at this time, go into the reasons I made my decisions, but I have never looked back. One year later when I talk about it I usually have the people in stitches laughing at my experiences in the hospital and the aftermath. My last test was, I think he said was .0012. Life is good but could be better, but is that not always the way. I was able to control my urine after two months of getting that dam %#$!* tube out. sexually dry but the feeling is there, so be it and any other problems are of such a minor detail that it is not worth bothering about. Overall I was really lucky that it was caught early and I made, what I feel were the right decisions, and had the attitude, I can't change it, so live with it!
