Guest guest
, can you give more information on the E range for what time of the cycle this was taken. 32 does not sound high to me. And esp not in relation to your enormously high P. BUT the P is very interesting and yes it is most likely being released out of your tissues. Perhaps iodine plays a role in that. They do work synchronistically, so I would not be surprised. There have been women here who cannot take iodine and feel it is as if they have taken P, probably because it helps release it! I've resisted the notion knowing the WP too well. But note the E levels kept going up each month. But check out that jump in P this month (4/28)! I'm not taking ANY BHRT. I stopped Wiley in November and all hormones in December. The ONLY thing I'm doing since march, is isocort and iodine. Then the 4/28 test came in and he's in shock. He's never seen anything like this! He didn't know what to say and had to consult peers who basically confirmed, this P range and E range is either me putting it on, (I'm sooooooo NOT doing that) or it is the WP detox. He no longer thinks I'm estrogen dominent. He thinks that I'm toxic in both estrogen and mainly progesterone now. They think because I'm NOW on iodine, specifically iodine, it is helping me detox faster and showing up now plus the DIM and the Calcium D-glutcarate will also detox. I've never been more certain (as is my ND) that I'm now on the right track for my original problem, insomnia. And now on the right track to get this WP crap (yes, the WP is crap, but not BHRT) out of my system. I'm mean, holy cow….how in the world did I go from 203 to 7854 in progesterone in one month after having NOT taking any BHRT in 4 months? I tell you how. It was hiding. And I think we found it. He has another idea to help me detox even faster that I may try. But we're going to wait a bit until I settle in with my teeny dose of Armour that I started this month. I can tell you it definitely does not involve BHRT tho! Note that the DHEA is climbing slowly with the help of cortisol… This is what happens to a woman doing the WP for only 5 months…who got sicker. P definitely stores and hides somewhere. I don't know about anyone claiming to love the WP, but I gotta tell you, it did me the greatest injustice to my health. Guest guest
P detox in heavy mode simply kills my kidneys among many other things including amazing edema. Iodine kills my kidneys and gives me awful edema. Oddly it doesn't give me a headache or other things women report as being signs of bromide detox. Interesting idea that the iodine perhaps releases the progesterone... ??? To me they both seem like that very same thing in terms of how much I like 'em = not much at all. Guest guest
it seems.... WP = ticking time bomb for some of us. Thanks for reporting that. Very interesting. Your ND could call the urine testing labs to hear the shock from some of those people about what they saw with some of the post WP reports. It always seems so odd that the serum and saliva wasn't showing up at the time the symptoms were so horrible, but Dr. Formby's suggestion was that the hormones were likely getting pushed into the organs, fat, and red blood cells. When that much P is in my body there is no way I'm touching the DIM. I want all that E 'cause for me, E = sleep. Maybe I missed something. I thought the DIM was to increase the excretion of E. ? Guest guest
The last 2 dates were day 21 of my cycle. In talking with my ND, he states that the e in saliva is free, so the ranges are much different than using e in blood, which is blood binding. I'm now sort of in agreement with this saliva being too high. my blood levels are normal. but in explaining the difference between the free and blood binding to me, i think i understand why saliva e tests are different and important for different reasons than blood e levels which are in my opinion as important. but the bottom line is he is no longer suggesting P to offset my high E! halla-frickin-ljua! > Ok, for all you science gurus out there, get a hold of my latest > saliva results. Guest guest
well, i did tell him i was using an online support group to learn stuff, he's kind of tickled that i know so much (and i feel like i know nothing really). so i don't think he really understood the WP until the other day when my results came back and he asked how much i was taking. i told him to multiply 25x4 and 25x14 for the P and for the E i said anywhere up to 28 mg/day... he said " wow! No wonder there is a support group for women who've done this. " he really had NO idea how much was in the WP. just that it was high. until i told him. and he almost fell off his chair. at first he thought the P was sitting around in even my ovaries...hence the cysts... and possibly one of them just sort of burst or released all this P... i don't know. all i know is that it was hiding and now somehow it is coming out and metabolising via the results. (at least i think that's what's happening). Only time will really tell month after month. but it was a true shocker to see the huge jump in P. the lab people retested it just to be sure! > > > Ok, for all you science gurus out there, get a hold of my latest > > saliva results. Guest guest
Did the response to iodine include feeling like a water balloon? I felt like that on high doses of iodine, started storing so much water that I almost could hear the sloshing when I jiggled. My ND says that the body will often retain water while detoxing in order to dilute the problematic substance. I hadn’t taken any hormones when this happened last summer, only upped the iodine. I also did not get any of the headache iodine symptoms. Wondering if there is a clue in iodine and metabolic type, maybe protein types don’t need as much iodine as the endocrine system is different? I have backed off the large iodine supplements because I wasn’t getting any of the dramatic improvements that others report, nothing particularly bad either. Now take pulsed doses just in case it does help with breast cysts, so far though not so much. The estrogel has helped a lot however. Cysts are still there but no pain, no inflammation, continuous improvement. That has been quite dramatic. Karima P detox in heavy mode simply kills my kidneys among many other things including amazing edema. Laurel , can you give more information on the E range for what time of the cycle this was taken. Thanks for sharing, Madeleen
Guest guest
Have you correlated how you felt at these different points in your cycle to see if you " feel " better at a particular hormone balance? That might be very helpful in guiding you to the right balance for you. -- In rhythmicliving , " wild.dingo " wrote: > > Ok, for all you science gurus out there, get a hold of my latest > saliva results. Guest guest
Yes, i chart symptoms, but its really a crap shoot at this point. I feel like i'm so out of rhythem because of the toxic levels of E and P in me, it's hard to pinpoint it. Prior to the WP, my periods were every 28 days. i never had a normal period since going on it (june 2007) and off it (nov 2007), until this month. first time i got a normal, on-time period since last June. and i wonder if its because i'm detoxing the WP crap in my body. once detoxed... i will probably be able to chart symptoms and see trends. i used to think i felt great around day 5-18, but honestly, i have bad days within that period too. thanks > > > > Ok, for all you science gurus out there, get a hold of my latest > > saliva results. Guest guest
, I do not do saliva testing myself but I can do the math. But first of all, I would love to know if the E range represents a menopausal woman or a younger woman? My guess is that the saliva range is pretty low to begin with. The saliva folks have been traditionally pro P and anti-E. But never mind that. Re your E score, it is 3 times as high as the top of the range. Your P score is at least 15 times as high as the top of the range. So the way I would look at that, is that the balance E/P is completely whacked with E suffering on the low side in this particular situation. I remember that those women who were P overdosed from Wiley had to do more E for a while to compensate for overdosing of P. So to say that you are toxic E makes little sense to me. Just my 2 cents here. Madeleen > > -- In rhythmicliving , " wild.dingo " > wrote: > > > > Ok, for all you science gurus out there, get a > hold of my latest > > saliva results.
