Guest guest
Since posting the other day regarding my Dads agitation he has fallen several times. He is now in a wheelchair. They don't believe anything is broken, but the doctor ordered a knee x-ray. I noticed a place on his knee of Friday when I took him out. It was almost like a injection puncture then a long line running to what looked like another injection puncture. He did not complain of pain. Sat. morning I got a call they found him on the floor. My sister just called me, because they called her and he had fallen again today. They found him by his wheelchair. The doctor had seen him just before that. They are going to do some orthostatic BP, because this has been a issue for him. My neice noticed a bruise when she was visiting Saturday and they had him in the bathroom. My Dads last mini mental was 8 can anyone tell me about their loved ones mini mental and the significance if any to that score. I am a nurse and I do mini mentals with my clients, but I would like to hear your feelings and thoughts. Thanks mary
Guest guest
, The mini mental isn't something I kept track of as there were to many other things. I did keep Mom in a wheel chair for the exact reason you are talking about. I used a " Buddy " .... something or other across the front of her between the two arms so she couldn't get out. I knew the nh wasn't right there all the time. I didn't want her to fall. She learned to use her feet and navigate around. She never learned how to push the wheels on the chair to move herself. And with all the ups and downs of the disease, you couldn't depend on what they remembered and when. It could change from morning to afternoon Might be better one day than the next. I just went with the flow. Don't know if this helps. Hugs, Donna R Caregave for Mom (after I brought her from WI to MI) for 3 years and 4th year in a nh. She was almost 89 when she died in '02. No dx other than mine. Dads Agitation Since posting the other day regarding my Dads agitation he has fallen several times. He is now in a wheelchair.
