On some shows I've seen with athletes etc who were trying to lose weight they would work out with a sweatshirt on etc to sweat more-was just

Those athletes usually have to meet some weight requirement and sweating out some water will help them meet that, but I have never read anything that says you're burning more calories or losing weight faster when you sweat more. Congrats on your success, keep at it!

when you do the hour long billy tape?

It varies from person to person. You can go to www.caloriesperhour.com to get an idea, but it's best if you have a Heart Rate Monitor that way you can see how much you burn as an individual.

For the most part folks who are heavier burn more than folks who are leaner as they have more to move around. I know when the original workouts came out it was touting 800 calories an hour (and most kickboxing type workouts will say that) but IRL folks say that they average 150-300 depending on the workout and how much intensity they're putting into it.
