Guest guest
I tried reading the article the other day when you posted it but was so out of it I couldn't finish reading it. :-)Will give it another go around and print it out to take with to the next doctor visit. I have known about the Rhinitis being connected to being Hypo, I have the perpetual runny nose no matter what. Will have to do some more looking into the Vasopressin connection. Did you find anything that actually helped withthe runny nose other than steroids. I have had more doctors wanting to load me chuck full of nasal and inhaled steroids to solve my perpetual runny nose and asthma. The ironic thing is that much of the time the runny nose sets off the asthma, post nasal drip induced asthma. So they they want to load me with even more steroids for that. I have argued with I don't know how many doctors that the amount of steroids in these meds is enough to cause problems and many of them just refuse to even hear it. They have been so indoctrinated that steroids are the totally safe go-to answer for every patient that they won't even consider any other form of treatment. So how did the nasal steroids shoot you through the roof? Did it send your system into overdrive? Wipe you out?The last time my new GP wanted me to try a steroid inhaler for my asthma he gave me one they usually use for kids. I had been using it for a few days and was so bad I ended up standing in Sam's Club with no clue what we were in there for and any concept of the rest of the errands I had to do were completely wiped out of my brain. I had a low level asthma attack and my blood sugar tanked. Luckily my teenager was with me in case I passed out or something. I had some food in the car and was able to get myself together enough to at least drive home. Yet my doc refused to believe steroids from an inhaler could do that. I had already read a number of studies documenting that these types of steroids (inhaled, nasal, cream) were enough to cause problems. When I went looking today there were even more! Doctors should be taking the time they spend talking to drug reps to read medical journals. Sigh. (in SD) All of the stress hormones do many various things 'and in ratio to each other cause even more drama please please read this link i pasted in my other post/thread this week trust me your doctor will not know all the info that is contained on thsi endotext page<snip> ...... -Carol PS when i was so sick with hypot/AF/high cortisol and Fibromylgia pains etc my idiot doctor gave me an RX for Nasal Steriod inhalers for my extreme Vasomotor Rhinitis )known by modern medical literature to be caused by High Vasopressin BTW!!) it shot me thru the roofj within 3 days of using the lowest dose possible.
