Hi,

What is plain is that the regulators are using this as an opportunity to get

compliance with the rules that have in fact been in existence since 1973

anyway. The point is that selling retail was never allowed for medicines but

the excuse now is that the EC Directive requires that State to go to the

bother of defining what is and what is not a medicinal 'product' (not a

medicinal ingredient by the way). Actually, if the rules had been strictly

complied with in the first place, then there would be no change at all with

the practitioner's position.

Although it was never tried in a Court, there is little doubt that

unlicensed pills and capsules were never permitted under the regs,.neither

were prescriptions being filled by third parties. But the whole thing had

been getting increasingly out of control for so many years.
