Guest guest
Hi, What is plain is that the regulators are using this as an opportunity to get compliance with the rules that have in fact been in existence since 1973 anyway. The point is that selling retail was never allowed for medicines but the excuse now is that the EC Directive requires that State to go to the bother of defining what is and what is not a medicinal 'product' (not a medicinal ingredient by the way). Actually, if the rules had been strictly complied with in the first place, then there would be no change at all with the practitioner's position. Although it was never tried in a Court, there is little doubt that unlicensed pills and capsules were never permitted under the regs,.neither were prescriptions being filled by third parties. But the whole thing had been getting increasingly out of control for so many years. In case it's any help, I've written a piece on how we see the moving goal posts affect herbalists in the UK at: http://www.rutlandbio.com/2011/04/05/new-laws-what-does-it-all-mean-for-me/ Best wishes to all, Chenery MCPP MNIMH QP Director, Rutland Biodynamics Ltd., Medicinal Herb Growers and Department of Health (MHRA) Licensed Medicines Manufacturer, Town Park Farm, , Rutland, LE15 8DG, UK Email: pc@...
