Guest guest
Gladys, I'm so glad that you received this special gift for both you and your mom. It is so difficult at the end, isn't it? I remember being at the hospital with my mom when she died in 2006, and although she had been sick for quite some time all I could think was " Oh god, I'm not ready for this. " It was only because I knew in my heart that this was the only way she could heal that I made it through. Now as I face LBD with my Dad, I sometimes think the same thing. But there is also strength and joy in the most unexpected of places. You and Ruthie are in my prayers for your journey, Narielle Subject: God's unexpected gifts To: LBDcaregivers Date: Sunday, October 12, 2008, 1:15 PM About a month ago, we put one of those " Sunsetter Awnings " with screen room on Mom's deck so she could comfortably sit outside. We enjoyed it for a couple weeks before her dramatic decline. I thought our days of sitting out there together were over. Well..... God gave us a gift this morning. Mom doesn't seem to have the Lewy Lean " today so we were able to get her outside on this beautiful Indian summer day in Pennsylvania. We live in the woods so she is out there enjoying the sunshine and fresh air and just babbling happily away about things we don't understand but she seems happy. She told Ruthie that she was going " out in the sunshine with Don " (my father who passed in 2001). It's been a lovely morning and a precious and unexpected gift to Mom and to all of us. I'm going back to the porch now. I don't know when or if I'll get a chance to enjoy the fresh air with her again. Love to all.... Guest guest
Gladys, What a wonderful surprise. We had a wonderful day here in MI also. So I can imagine how great it was. Special gifts are even more special when they are unexpected. Hugs, Donna R Caregave for Mom (after I brought her from WI to MI) for 3 years and 4th year in a nh. She was almost 89 when she died in '02. No dx other than mine. God's unexpected gifts About a month ago, we put one of those " Sunsetter Awnings " with screen room on Mom's deck so she could comfortably sit outside.
