HI ,

I am doing weight watchers and I absolutely love it. This is definitely a

plan that can be followed for life :)

Weight watchers is great because it does not exclude foods. I'm a firm believer in "All things in moderation", and Atkins and other diets do not follow that principal. In my experience I work best with diets that don't tell me what I cannot eat, but rather teach me what I should eat and what to do if I don't eat well one night. Besides, my brother-in-law was on Atkins for a year - he lost the weight, and was good about following the diet, but his cholestrol went through the roof. I guess my opinion, and this is strictly my opinion as you have to do what works for you, is that by limiting food, you set yourself up for failure. Look for a diet that lets you eat what you want, in moderation and with caution, and you have something you can live with for life. -----"MJ" wrote: -----To: tae-bo_on From: "MJ" Date: 11/27/2004 06:38PMSubject: What kind of diet do most of you do?OK, I'm a 32 year old male, I've gained weight steadily over about 3 or 4 years. I love my Tae Bo Cardio, and I also do elliptical and exercise bike for my main workouts. I try to get in 45 minutes a day 5 or 6 days a week. This is probably typical of most of you. I do want to lose about 20 more lbs (I've lost about 20 over the last year or so), and I've tried some different diets. I tried Atkins, which worked well in the beginning, but I just don't think I can stick to that long term. My wife and I are thinking about doing Weight Watchers together. So, which diets do some of you use, and does it work well, especially when mixed with awesome Tae Bo? As Deb has said: "Fitness is a journey and it begins with the first step." hi michael !

i am doing weight watchers and am having success.

so i recommend that program to you!

i use taebo as a cardio activity, along with other aerobic workouts.

i also strength train and do yoga or athletic-type stretches.

all of the cardio you are doing is great and will burn lots of fat.

but everyone also benefits from building some muscle.

so consider adding a couple of weighted workout sessions to your weekly

schedule.

When I first started almost 6 years ago, I did Weight Watchers. And

WW is not a diet, by a lifestyle change. Diet = deprivation, " bad "

foods, etc. There are NO restrictions what so ever on WW. Everything

is allowed in moderation.

In my case, I lost 75 pounds in 9 months. I was only doing Tae Bo at that time.

It's defintely something you can stick with for life.

I never followed a diet during my weight loss (80 pounds). I actually followed the theory behind the book "The Seven Secrets of Slim People". And of course there is another book that was good called "Outsmarting the Female Fat Cell". I am sure if you read it, however being male, wouldn't hurt you. They both are good books. I got them off of Ebay for next to nothing...but book stores care them as well. But, I don't believe in dieting. Dieting is depriving. Eating in moderation is the key to success!!! I hit my goal of 80 pounds down 4 years ago and have maintained it since then by following the same theory. It does work! Of course diet and exercise go hand and hand. You have to burn the candle from both ends to have success. It is so important for you to find something that you truly enjoy doing because it will be a chore and a temporary thing. If you do exercises you absolutely dislike.....you

will not have success. You need to do something fun ....my fun was Tae Bo!

20 pounds is huge! Congrats on that! It's unbelievable to see and feel 20 pounds after you have lost it. Just go to the grocery store and pick up a 20 pound bag of potatoes. I was blown away when I looked at how many bags = what I had lost! So....what a HUGE accomplishment! Congrats to you on that!!!
