Try this magnesium preparation: 1 part milk of magnesium (say, 1 tablespoon) 4 parts vinegar (apple works fine) (say, 4 tablespoons) Mix, let stand until it's clear (= about 10 minutes) Add 1 tablespoon of the mix to 1 bottle of water Drink that bottle during the day (NOT at once!). This is 1) cheap 2) at least two times as effective as similar amounts of magnesium pills, nevermind the kind of magnesium in those pills. (That's the adult dose - an adult is thought to be about 70 kg. Adjust by weight for the child.) That'll up her magnesium reserves, which will at least help (sometimes even enormously) with seizures. Also add a good B-vitamin. The dose for an adult is 50 mg of B2, B5, B6 a day (with smaller amounts of the other B vitamins), adjust by weight. (You need B in order to absorb magnesium. You need magnesium in order to absorb B. To break that vicious circle you need large amounts of each, at least at first.) See how much simple carbs are in the diet (the more sweets and simple carbs the less magnesium). Check for stress (the more stress the less magnesium in the body). Luck! Guest guest
Have a look on Amazon.co.uk for milk of magnesia original. It's just Magnesium Hydroxide and water - no sugar or peppermint. Guest guest
With one child I use Galium, Scut Lat and Passiflora. We added Bupleurum recently and increase the dose as he grows. Guest guest
Hi Maggie The M of M original is here: http://www.amazon.co.uk/-Milk-Magnesia-Original-355/dp/B000GFZ12G/ref=sr\ _1_3?ie=UTF8 & s=drugstore & qid=1299662448 & sr=8-3 As Annette said, it's from the US. You get a fairly big bottle but have to pay shipping. The usual stuff from the local chemist with the extra Sodium hydrogen carbonate, oil of peppermint, glycerol and sodium saccharide also works, just tastes a bit funny.
