Guest guest
Lynne, What positive results did you see - or did you notice behavioral changes? When we gave our daughter an extended round of Biaxin it was wonderful. Her tummy stopped hurting and she was more aware and focused. I was surprised because I try so hard to keep antibiotics away from her. I wonder if probiotics have the same effect on some kids. Does Ther-Biotic Complete have something different in it than the others you have tried? Shari Re: probiotics > Why can't some kids tolerate probiotics? mentioned her son is sick and I > know he does great with probiotics. Our daughter is just awful on them. Anyone > know why? They were awful for my son until we found a brand that he could tolerate. So far only Ther-Biotic Complete has worked for him. Guest guest
Yep, same here Lynne. For us it is Primal Defense. But in a few months it may be something else! This has worked for months now better than anything else has but I find Slater tends to change as his gut improves. Wish there was a roadmap for these gut issues! in AL > > Why can't some kids tolerate probiotics? mentioned her son is sick and I > > know he does great with probiotics. Guest guest
Yep, Primal Defense was like a miracle for our son. He has been on this for over two years now. Large doses too. Guest guest
what dose do you use? Slater still has to use the powder but one scoop is the same as one pill I think. He is 34 lbs now.. how big is your little guy? Thanks, in AL > > > Why can't some kids tolerate probiotics? mentioned her son > is sick and I > > > know he does great with probiotics. Guest guest
, I started Zachary when he was four and about 48 lbs or so. I would give him about six of those scoops, heaped up, two to three times a day. I also have tried the pills, since my guy will swallow now, and for whatever reason, the powder seems to work better for him. I don't think his digestive tract was breaking down those hard packed pills. Now, Zachary weighs 58lbs. I give him one of those blue scoops that comes in the Lauricidin tubs. I give one blue scoop, heaped up, two to three times a day. When he is sick, three times a day, and when not, two times a day. I give this with him amino acids on an empty stomach in the mornings and before bed. During the day, I try to time it away from meals so there is no interference from the digestive enzymes we use. Guest guest
WOAH! I give my 4 year old (40 lb) son a mere 1/2 tsp per DAY of Primal Defense. It never amazes me... the different needs of these kids. We are working on a minor Clostridia issue. Aside from that, my son's gut looked pretty good. I guess I am one of the lucky parents. How do you hide so much " dirt " in a drink? Pam > , I started Zachary when he was four and about 48 lbs or so. I would give him about six of those scoops, heaped up, two to three times a day. Guest guest
Hi all... well for comparsion sake, for maintenance we take 2 of the scoops that come with it three times a day. When we have issues I add more in between those doses and sometimes increase the doses also. It's one of those things that I judge day to day! When I try using other things or cut back too much, we have immediate gut issues. They are all different for sure! Have a good week-end everyone! in AL (who HOPES these bumps I'm seeing are chicken pox starting tonight... if not it is a mercury rash we see on occasion.. either way I figure it is a good thing! ) ) > > , I started Zachary when he was four and about 48 lbs or so. > I would give him about six of those scoops, heaped up, two to three > times a day. Guest guest
You know, we actually call it his 'dirt' too! LOL! He will drink his dirt, combined with the compounded aminos in a small amount or orange juice. This poor kid has learned to drink bad tasting meds since he was 3 1/2. Now he will drink, or take darn near anything I ask him too. Thank goodness! > How do you hide so much " dirt " in a drink? > > Pam >
Guest guest
Us too ! Actually I just put all that " dirt " in a bowl with a tad of water, make a " paste " and spoon it in him! > You know, we actually call it his 'dirt' too! LOL! Guest guest
I have been using adult dose of the professional strength Hallelujah Acres Probiotics since dd was 2 yo. She is 4 yo now. I just open the cap and pour it in food. Every single chewable that I have looked at all had some sort of excitotoxin so I am left opening up caps. Not too big of a deal though. https://shopping.hacres.com/item/itemKey/1198221I have thought of trying this one as it has the digestive enzymes included with the FOS and probiotics, but it is quite pricey: http://www.arthurandrew.com/syntolSusie ~
Guest guest
Many probiotics come in a capsule or powder form. I give my 9 yo dd TherBiotic Complete capsules. I talso comes in powder form. Yvette A. Probiotics Hi,I was wondering which probiotic products you all use for your young children. I would need something that can be put in juice or food, not in pill form.Thanks..

Guest guest
the child was probably given high doses of antibiotics while in the hospital which can cause the gut flora to be wiped out. I'd say a probiotic but don't know about the dose b/c of the age? Have her call Kirkman's and attach a site about probiotic benefits and how they work. Many people have never even heard of them yet. I chose the chewable b/c that's all she'll take. It just so happened to be the only thing that ever worked and fixed the candida problem that was present on a previous stool sample. Can't say enough about it! It has sorbitol that acts like a laxative, probiotics to help aid in replenishing the good bacteria, it's simple and sweet for the most part for a child to take, and most of all, it produces a bm without dependency!!!
