Guest guest
My husband just had a scare, he has a tumor on his parotid. The first surgeon wanted to remove it the next day, the incision runs through most of the facial nerves. I don't know why but we kicked around a second opinion, should we get one, or not.... Seems how this would be oral cancer I talked to our dentist, I talked to one of the OR nurses all telling me good things, we almost didn't get a second opinion. We started thinking of other things we've had done over the years and we have had second opinions. It's always best to get a second opinion. If you are diagnosed with Chiari who ever refers you, ask for that second opinion. I was diagnosed in 1990 by a neurosurgeon, so I went for a second opinion by a neurologist. I wanted a non surgical opinion. The neurologist that I saw recognized the Chiari and said I needed surgery. Jeff's second opinion was, his eye on the same side as the tumor has a backed up tear duct that he has been dealing with for over a month. He saw that doctor after seeing a second ENT. They have decided to try to clear up his eye, if the tumor is still there after the eye has cleared up, then they will remove the tumor. Hopefully the two are connected and they will both clear up together. Kathleen
