No, it is common to take them together.

One is for nose and one is for bronchial passages.

Subject: Asmanex and

Nasonex

Hi group,

I have been prescribed Asmanex. On occasion I use

Nasonex. Will Ibe overdosed if I take both Asmanex and Nasonex? I

think they are both the same medication.

Has anyone taken these two medications together?

Thanks for the information

Hi Dora,Thanks for the post.I guess the way that mometasone furoate (Asmanex and Nasonex) is administered to the body matters.  Asmanex is inhaled to reach the lungs and helpdecrease inflammation.  Nasonex is inhaled in the nostrils to inhibit allergens.  I guess both of these are small dosages.  The medication is pretty smart , huh?

I will start the Asmanex next Monday.  I may not need the Nasonex until I feel a cold staring.ThanksDonachi39

Read your inserts you get in the package, then call your pharmacist, and mention it to your Dr. when you next see him. I had the same question, with my symbicort, and flutacasone, the insert says not to take them together, so I asked my pharmacist, she said it was great that I caught that myself. But, she should have told me first. But, she agreed, so I get the generic anyway now, and only take the flutacasone when I cannot get my sinus's open any other way.To: asthma Sent: Monday, October 24, 2011 12:37 PMSubject: Asmanex and Nasonex

Talk to your doctor or pharmacists but I dont think they are large enough doses

to OD on the medication.

I think you're right about the dosages.  They are administered diferent also. Asmanex is inhaled by mouth to reach the lungs.  Nasonex is inhaled through the nose to inhibit nasal inflammation.  I will ask my doctor next week.  I feel okay about taking them.
