Guest guest
Hello texas gal,Welcome. You have come to a fantastic group. Everyone here listens very good and tries to help to the best of their knowledge.I think you need to see an asthma doctor. I think the over the counter medicines have run their course and not doing the job anymore. There are some good allergist, pulmonologist and primary care physicians. You may have exercise induced asthma or allergies to cats. (I have always had cats and dogs . . . but just recently found out I was allergic to cats. I had a really bad asthma attack about a year ago.) I think you need to think about you. I was putting everyone first, not thinking about me, until my body said stop and put me in the hospital. I take more breaks, exercise for me, and get at least 7 hours of sleep everynight and believe it or not my family still comes first, bu tnow I know my limits. I am like you and worried about medications also. Tell the group which medicines concern you, more than likely someone here has taken it. Hope some of this has helped. You've come to the right place, this is a fantastic group. Donachi39 . hello all I am new to group but not to asthma-I am 65 and have had it from child hood--I use an over the counter inhaler and primatene tablets which have done me fine until lately--we have been very dry here and dusty plus I live with animals-dogs and cats-and I have let my self stop walking and exercising as I know I should-I want to start an exercise program but the times of difficulty breathing are often and exercise seems to make it worse--I Know I will have to see a doctor but I have been reading the post and wonder if its the best idea to be using some of the meds and inhalers they prescribe----HELPPPPP ------------------------------------
