7/1 my cardiologist told me to go to NYU ER because of chest pain/pressure and was monitored the entire day and by early evening was told they would be keeping me overnight in hospital. They gave me every test and after they did the echo stress cardiogram was told to go home but to make sure to call my cardiologist in a few days. Saw cardiologist and was also told I have "some" pulmonary hypertension - my numbers were 20 and 49 - and referred me to a PH specialist at Weil Cornell in NYC. Had to wait almost two months for that appointment. Appt. was 2 weeks ago. Before seeing her I saw my pulmonologist and rheumatologist and both felt that I was not a good candidate for an angiogram or right heart cath and am hoping the PH doctor made the right decision not testing me further. She did do one other test which was by SHAPE - Timed Protocol Final Report Perk

in Heart Failure Center (don't know if this means anything to you). When I see my rheumy on Tues., she will explain everythingto me. I am only going to copy a few things.Breathing Efficiency -- NegligibleCo/Pulmonary Flow with exercise AbnormalCardiopulmonary Reserve (O2) Severely ImpairedThere is much more to the test and after Tues. will be able to explain.Below where she wrote some remarks she wrote "There is NO suggestion of a PH response" and pray she is correct!!!!! She told me that very often the Echo stress cardiogram is different from the right heart cath and not to rely on that test for accuracy. She took much time examining me - also she is supposed to be the best PH doctor here in NY. nbsp; My pulse oxygen readings were 99 or 100 each time. She feels that my problem is Lupus-Sjogren's related more so than anything else. Meanwhile I still don't know where I stand because it happens occasionally when I will have the pain-pressure in the center of my chest. I am not confusing acid reflux since if I have AR the pain-discomfort would be lower. She did recommend I either go for pulm/cardio therapy or else going to a gym which I don't have the energy to do or else to make sure I exercise daily at home. I also asked her what the chances are that this condition worsens but did not get an answer which is understandable ...... This has to do with what brought me to call my cardiologist in July when I thought that maybe I was having a heart attack. Sharon
