Hi all, it appears many of us are experiencing difficulties at the moment, time of year perhaps?

I'm having real problems, chest is so tight I can't even cough! This of course means I can't free my lungs from the rubbish that's most likely blocking them up! I've increased my preds up to 40mgs and increased my salbutamol & Ipratropium nebulisers but there's not much more I can do. I don't seem to have any signs of a bacterial infection which is good, but I hate it when my chest becomes so tight and dry, it's the most difficult type of flare up for me to get rid of.

My chest pains have increased, often quite nasty. I've often wondered if I would recognise a heart attack amongst all the other pains I get in my chest!

So best wishes to all for a speedy recovery, I am in complete empathy with you at this time!

Hi Chip,Hope you are feeling better. Things have been tough on this side of the pond as well. I have had a good day today though. It has left me feeling hopeful that the next week will also be well. MadelineTo: Asthma Group <asthma >Sent: Friday, September 23, 2011 5:04 AMSubject: flare up

i just got out of the hospital yesterday because of a flare and the allergies of

ragweed and goldenrod are horrid right now. we have had rain for the last 3 days

so far. so that lowers the level of pollen but i am sick of being sick.

5 days on prednisone 50mg's

125mg of shot dexamethalone or salumedral (sp)

then a " great stay " at the hospital from thurs afternoon until sunday night.

i just hope to getting feeling better due to i don't want to go back in. got

stuck with at least 3-4 needles because they can't find a decent vein for the

medicine to give me.

i hope everyone else feels better too!

hi this is the worst time of the year for me.ragweed and goldrod, yuckand just got out of the hospital with a flare and bronchitis so am trying to take it easy but so hard with 3 teens and who is suppose to do the house work, talk about i having too many "chores" to do. the

kids havent figured things out that if a job needs to be done just do it.i do laundry and dishes most days.if i had a dry cough i would get a headache from no pressure in my head.i was on 50 mg of predthen 125mg of salamedroleand now back on a taper of pred,60 two days40 two days20 two days10 two daysthen i will pray i still feel better and not end up in hospital.m Xolair shots helps a lot when i can get it and pay for it.with 2-3 people getting it ends up costing at least 40 a month office visit and then it will go up having another in the family getting it twice a month. just glad it is a prescription.i cant have my chest be too tight due to it would give me nightmares of having an attack in my sleep.melissa
