Guest guest
Hi all! I've posted before but it's been a while, so a brief recap....I've been dealing with dizziness (not spinning but an off-balanced, rocking-boat sensation) for over 6 months now. Along with that, my typical Fibro symptoms have incrased as well: fatigue, listlessness, muscle weakness, joint and muscle pain, insomnia, and IBS symptoms. I've seen a multitude of doctors and had a dozen different tests run, but no one has found anything beyond my Fibro dx with one exception. I've seen a chriopractor/ accupuncturist for a couple months now who thought the dizizness had to do with a misalignment in my cervical spine, affecting the muscles and nerves, causing the off-balance and rocking-boat sensations. I started to see an improvment but then things got worse again. The next step is an ENT that specializes in inner-ear and dizziness issues. But, to be honest, I don't expect he will find anything either, but I'm willing to try to rule anything else out. So this has brought me to trying Gluten-free, in a moment of weakness and desperation combined with my beloved nagging mother. ;-) I did some research and found enough positive results that I figured it was worth a try. It's just been 5 days now but I have found an increase in energy and a decrease in dizziness over the last 3 days. The pain has still been quite bothersome, though. Has anyone else tried or is currently Gluten-free? Did you find an improvement in all of your symptoms? What foods/recipes did you find particularly good? I haven't tried ordering anything off line yet, nor have I bought anything from any speciality health food stores yet. I have been able to find enough at the local grocery stores to get me thorugh for the last few days. I've even been able to eat out a few times. It has come surprisingly easy, so far. I'm sure I'll have my weak moments, when I just can't bear to pass up a cookie or bread, but so far so good. :-) I'm hoping I will lose some weight as well, as I've put back on all the weight I had recently lost, since going on Lyrica. This of course is not my purpose of going G-free but it would certainly be a welcome bonus. I'm on 75 mg 2x/day of Lyrica and don't find that it's helping that much but I have gained over 10 pounds! YUCK! As always, thanks for reading and thanks for any suggestions and feedback! God Bless, nn
