Guest guest
First of all, don't be so hard on yourself! Secondly, start fresh at your next meal. Don't wait " until Monday " or whenever to pick up and start again. Tell your husband that you really need his support. If you frequent fast food places, go on their websites and look at their nutritional info to find some " healthier " options. If you really want that steak Gordita, eat one, not two. I don't believe in depriving yourself of anything in your diet - it just leads to bingeing. Moderation. Moderation. Moderation. Oh yeah - back to the hubby - tell him that the next time he is going to stop somewhere, to please call you and ask you what you want him to buy for you - that way you have a chance to make an wise decision before it is physically in front of you tempting you. My husband has sabotaged my diet many a time, but it takes a strong will to resist the things that we enjoy the taste of. My husband always likes a sweet after dinner - most of the time I can just look the other way (eat a skinny cow or a piece of fruit or some Propel water), but sometimes, I want a taste, so I take a bite or a spoonful or whatever. Most of the time it's not as good as I imagine it to be anyway. Oooh. Another thing that sometimes helps me is I will be really " good " all week long, then give myself ONE meal or day on the weekend where I get to eat what I want (within reason, obviously). It helps me get thru the week because I can tell myself " ooh, I'll have that [fill in your favorite food] on Saturday " . Most of the time, I don't even want it when Saturday comes (but if I do, I will allow myself to eat it), but it's a little mind game that really works! Are you bingeing at night because you are hungry? If so, try to have small snacks throughout the day - this really helps me. I will carry some Zone Perfect bars around with me. I try to eat a half of a bar in between meals. It makes me less hungry at meal time and I end up eating smaller meals, AND, it keeps my metabolism running all day. Also, I know you have heard this before, but WATER WATER WATER. It does fill you up. Bottom line - life is about decisions. You make the decisions to do well all day long, you make the decisions to do your Tae Bo. You need to make the decision to ask your husband not to buy you two steak gorditas without asking, and if he does, you have to make the decision to eat one and stick one in the fridge, or just eat the meat off of them, or whatever decision you feel is the healthiest. OK. I am done. I hope something I said helped! Good luck and God Bless! > Hi everyone. I'm back on the regular Taebo kick recently and its > getting better and better each day. Thanks everyone!!! hi lisa! i fight with this too. i do great all day long and as soon as the kids get into bed, i head down to the kitchen and start munching! im not even hungry! ugh! so, what i have been trying to do is to tell myself that i must drink one or two cups of water (or crystal light) before i get to eat anything. if i still feel like eating after that then i go ahead. but most of the time, im finding that im actually really thirsty and that is manifesting itself as the munchies. also, if i do eat in the evening, i try to have something that is low calorie/low fat. like popcorn (redenbachers makes tiny single serving bags and in a light flavour) or danone yogurt (made with splenda). i tell myself that i can eat as much fruit and vegetables that i want so i also try to reach for the strawberries/oranges/watermelon/etc at that time. i also allow myself to have one diet pepsi in the evening if i just cant get past it all. also, please try to ensure that you are eating ALL of your regular meals and snacks. that means that you eat breakfast, a morning snack, lunch, an afternoon snack and then supper. if you get all of your food in during the day, like you should, then you shouldnt be hungry in the evening. oh! another good thing to have at night is a protein shake with fruit... which is also low cal/low fat if you use protein powder and water. so, drink alot of water, eat all of your regular meals and snacks and make smart substitutions for high cal/high fat munchie-type foods and you will conquer this thing!!! -carolyn.
