For some reason the Canadian Society of OB’s and GYN’s doesn’t always

recommend using P in addition to the E.

1. Conjugated estrogen (CE) cream, an intravaginal sustained-release

estradiol ring or estradiol vaginal tablets are recommended as effective

treatment for vulvovaginal atrophy. 2. Routine progestin co-therapy is not

required for endometrial protection in women receiving vaginal estrogen

therapy in appropriate dose.

From their 2006 consensus report.

page 87 contradicts

that. It could be that a lose-dose

vaginal application is not proliferative.
