Tara,

My wife is doing Weight Watchers and occasionally has the same problem. There

are probably MANY factors involved. Firstly you may be retaining a little water

from dinner night before, always get measured, weighed FIRST thing in monring,

after ablutions, if possible.

Secondly, Where in your montly cycle are you? Close to Menstratuion will cause

weight & measures to go up a little, does for my wife.

Lastly, DON " T get tied up in weights and measures, they are like the stock

market, they bounce up & down on a daily basis, it's the change over the long

term that you are looking for. Average your last 3 months, and then next month

drop oldest, add newest and average again, that will give you a better

statistical annalysis of your wieght loss/gain.

Do the exercise for fun, not to lose weight and the weight will come off on it's

own eventually. Also, talk to your doctor about having your metabolism checked,

you may be one of those unlucky people that has a very " efficent " metabolism, ie

SLOW (my wifes prob again, I lost 16lbs in 3 weeks on WW, she lost 4, she was

PISSED!) just goto relax and have fun and live life!

Hi Tara,

First of all, every one is different. Rayelle who posts here often, only lost like 12 pounds and that took her a year to do (please correct me if that's wrong Rayelle). Michele Reber has said that it took her 6 months to even notice a difference and then she started losing like gangbusters. I haven't heard/read this from her personally, but what I hear is that she used supplements to help her. Her Dad (he owns the company that produced the older workouts) is also behind a company called Malibu Naturals, that pushes weight loss supplements. She has admitted to being a "guinea pig" for her dad's ventures, but I haven't seen anything where she admitted to using these. All along, she had denied using anything or "dieting".

How many calories are you eating in a day? If you're not eating enough, it's just as bad as eating too much. If you don't eat enough, your body will begin to think it's starving. It doesn't know any better, so it goes into protection mode and it holds onto what you *do* eat, because it doesn't know when/if you're going to feed it again. But if you do start to intentionally starve it, then it will give it up and that's how you have anorexics and all. You need to eat enough to support your workout regime. You don't want to be below 1200 calories (unless under a doctor's supervision).

I have heard from folks over the years who it has taken them a couple of months until they saw results, but they did come.

Be patient, Tara, it will come. The weight didn't come on overnight and it won't go away overnight.

When I first started 5 years ago, all we had were the studio tapes (about 2 months later, the Live! series started). I did the SA for a month to a month and a half. Then I started adding in the 8 minute for additional cardio. I'd attempt the SA about once a month. I had no problem getting through the cardio, it was the floorwork that was giving me problems. I worked out about 5-6 times a week.

I did see results from the beginning. I do attribute that to following WW for getting my eating on track. The first few weeks, I did struggle with the eating, but WW is what I needed to get the portions under control.

Don't give up, you will see results.

I just did my weigh in/measurements for the month (1 day early) and am NOT happy with the results.

How did Michele Reber (Is that how it is spelled??) become a size 4 without changing her diet? I'm a little frustrated :(Tara

Tara,

I was having the same problem as you. We are impatient. LOL! Your

body needs to catch up to what you are doing and then all of a

sudden you will start to see the results you want. Just know that

you are working out and eating better, and how can that be bad? I've

been doing Weight Watchers and working out a few times a week. At

first, I was getting really frustrated but after a couple of months

I started seeing a small loss in inches and lbs. It's been slow but

it's happening. My clothes are fitting better and I feel better.

I've lost 6 lbs and a few overall inches. I can't say exactly how it

happened but I really think a lot of it is thanks to Weight

Watchers. I was trying to " diet " on my own...watch what I eat and

work out and it just didn't work. When I started WW, I learned about

portions and I was really surprised at what I learned!!! I also

learned that some things I thought were healthy or ok to eat,

weren't ok... and a lot of things I thought were bad, really aren't.

Anyway, I think it's a great plan and very helpful. I believe Taebo

is an excellent tool for motivation, energy, and toning up...not to

mention weight loss. And with WW, you get to eat more if you work

out! The combination of the two has been great for me. Just my 2

cents. If you ever want to chat, you can e-mail me at
