Dear Alice and everybody,

I just could not look at another photo with the headlines 55,000 killed.It is

almost too much to take in, so I concentrated on the individual stories that

came out of this tragedy so far and there will be many more.

It is so hard to grasp, and must have been for all those standing there watching

a mountain of water come at them.

There should never be any doubt about the power of nature. But I doubt many will

think further than that, and certainly not about any larger meaning.

It is so huge that I cannot take it all in. The aftermath will be worse in

someway, because things will never be able to get back to normal for this

generation. Even the idea of rebuilding seems so hopeless at the moment. And

talk about PTSS...image the remembering of fighting the waves and their fury and

suddenly having your small son grabbed by the water force and not being able to

hang on....how does one get over that as a father?

And so many survivors asking what awful thing they must have done for G-d to

punish them so.....

all this in the twinkling of an eye....

How pitiful that all we can practically do is write a check...but indeed that is

all many of us can do beside hold these people in our hearts...the survivors I

mean. The dead are in good hands. And the survivors have the mercy of G-d.And

our compassion which I know they will feel.

We are all One, and this tragedy touches all of us.

This is hard to accept.to take in, I mean..it is so huge...

But, yes, Alice, there will be more consciousness in this world now...I think.

Just so people do not sluff it off and blame G-d, or their own past sins, as if

G-d would fashion such a tragedy to punish a few for their transgressions

What we cannot understand, we must not make up simple, childish excuses or

explanations for.

Yesterday I wrote that perhaps the disaster in SE Asia might shake up the

rest of humanity, which all over the world, seems to be divided into

opposites. Think ab it!

Jung tells us to hang onto them bec out of hopeless paradoxes something new

may emerge.

Think zipper n tab being the TF! or ida/pingala n shushumna or caduceus.......

Heraclitus said w/out the tension of opposites holding a harpstring, there

cld be no music!

But politically, so far, nobody seems to be paying attention.

The pics on TV make it possible for the world to suffer compassion n awe but

to my dismay a yng member of my own family commented that we shdn't take it so

to heart, after all there is nothing we can do ab it!

Well, the best I can do, it is true is write a check to Americares, wh I am

doing n ask u members to mebbe do something similar, but more than that open a

discussion ab yr understanding n exper of the TF.

It also concerns the coniunctio oppositorum of the consc/unconsc aspects of

the psyche.

One thing for sure is we need to remember the ultimate overweening power of

nature wh can reduce our feeble intellectualizing to chaos n rubble. U know,

as

one moves relentlessly into old age, one really does experience a shift in

'values'! I was lucky. I nearly died wh I was 27 n had an out-of-body exper. I

have writt ab it in JUNGIAN SYMBOLISM IN ASTROLOGY. This was in 1947 n was the

same described by Jung years later. The effect it had on me was to see that

like a photo neg, all the blacks were white n vice versa! I was so weak I cld

only move my fingertips but I felt strong enough to lift the city of Paris!

good deal of sense.

fulfilling its purpose in making the world conscious.

Dear Maureen,

The one I had in mind is that we are all One...nothing wrong with " what is IS "

certainly,but the acceptance of the event isn't so hard for me,I can stay in

reality. I know it happened,but as a deeper meaning about " who is my brother "

What do I do when he hurts? What is my inner response?

I have lately especially concerned about the Unity, and so this was uppermost in

my mind. We do so much to separate ourselves from each other, we tend to forget

we are all part of the Same.If that is so we hurt when part of us hurts, and we

allow it to hurt.
