Guest guest
Hello Friends: Well the turkey is finally in the oven, stuffed and draped in a lemon butter and sage soaked cheese cloth. I'm still looking for a recipe for the yams. I have a fine Vermont maple syrup, some ginger brandy and honey. Not sure which I'll use...perhaps all three. Will make mashed potatoes and the string bean casserole is coming with a friend..as are the pies, dinner rolls and the baked brie and crackers. Sounds like a feast. I have two kinds of cranberry sauce and the jelly kind that rolls out of the can which I like best. I bought the most beautiful cobalt wine globets yesterday and except for the lack of matching chairs the table should be beautiful. There will be eight of us, old and new friends to share this food on this rainy New England day. There is much to be thankful for in spite of the massive violence and injustice that permeates our little blue planet. I am thankful for my lovely home, my friends, the meaningful work that I am honored to do and for the many small and sacred blessings that surround me each day. I wish you all a wonderful Thanksgiving that finds you surrounded with friends and loved ones and a full and happy belly. Love and Blessings, Suzanne
Guest guest
Thank you Sue! I can not take credit for beginning this group though.... The support group began way before IMDSA was born! Bree Weasner, along with Beets began a website www.mosaicdownsyndrome.com and that website had a message board. The message board turned into this egroup and as it grew, several families, including myself, got together and decided to have a little " get together " . As time passed on, I (along with others) saw a need for a true organization dedicated to providing support, information and research. This is where IMDSA was born! I am very thankful that I have had the opportunity to serve as your president these past (almost) 8 years! It has been an honor and a pleasure. I have learned so much and met so many great people! Besides myself, our only remaining founder of IMDSA is Twomey. is often silent here, but always working! She is our secretary and our web master! If it were not for , we would not have a website! We have a great Board of Directors in our organization and each of them volunteer their time and without each of them, there would be no IMDSA! I also wanted to welcome the new families that have joined. Normally I am a lot more active in the groups, but since I have returned to school I have just not had that much time. I hope all of you find this group to be has helpful as I have. I would just like to say this Thanksgiving I am thankful for my beautiful baby girl, Isabella, my entire family and to Kristy Colvin for starting this group and IMDSA. It has given me so much insight into my daughter and world of Mosaic Down Syndrome. Sue Isabella 23 month mds and triple x
