Guest guest
Mistakes are possible, but I sure can immediately taste the sugary substance of drinks as opposed to the diet varieties. I am not aware of any testing devices. Although, on few occasions when I have had doubts, my husband's taste buds and face reactions were at least entertaining. a J. pawprinter@... Guest guest
One gal found her test tapes would react to sugar in drinks, when she went there they has " draw " drinks she tested, often found she was served the sugared version, the response, what difference does it make. Guest guest
Remember that Coke (and Pepsi I presume) have " secret ingredients " because the truth is that there is not one recipe for them, but dozens, depending on the region of the world or for whom the packaging is targeted. The ingredients could be vastly different in one location than another, so who knows what that is doing to your system. I think buying the 2 liter with Nutrasweet is probably the safest bet when buying diet soda. The ingredients should be regularly consistent so you can predict it's affect on your BG. ------ Prof. ph A. I poured myself a Diet Pepsi from one of those serve yourself jobbies and 3 hours lated when I tested I was around 300. The only possible reason was regular Pepsi in the dispenser. Anyway - aren't there some thingamajigs I could stick in the next drink to make sure it's sugar free?
Guest guest
Would you believe, Urine Test strips! By the ones that detect sugar in urine (Clinistix) and use those. As a Musician, I sing at several different venues and have had the problem you had. I tried it after reading the advise in the British Diabetes Association's " Balance " mag, and it works! Cheers, S. Guest guest
Tell those jerks " My Lawyer will explain what difference it makes " and leave....without paying. Then a letter to the local newspaper helps to bring shame to the establishment. Be Loud and proud people, that's how people with AIDS and cancer get all the NIH bucks, and us " quiet little diabetics " get .20 cents of every research dollar. S.
