Can I please relay my story and see if anyone can help? I'm at a bit

of a loss at the moment and don't know what next steps should be.

I have a little boy who has big gut issues. We've been GF/CF/LS for

2.5 yrs and have tried SCD without results (too many food

intolerances for it to work). I've also started removing oxalates

over the past 3 weeks due to elevated oxalate levels. We've been

working with a naturopath DAN for over 2 years and have tried just

about every natural protocol available - even Yasko. Done tons of lab

tests and spent a ton of money to no avail.

I had him scoped in January and it showed what they termed " mild and

non-specific chronic inflammation in the colon " . We started him on

Sulfasalazine in March until August. No big wows but his blood levels

of inflammation improved.

After 2 years of trying to tackle his gut issues naturally without

change I finally made the decision in the summer to try the anti-

infection protocol that Stan used. We did an oral vancomycin trial

last July and he had formed stools in 3 days!! So I knew bacteria was

a big part of the puzzle. M. Pneumonia, Strep, Klebsiella and

Enterobactor were showing in tests as well as Varicella-Zoster &

Herpes virus 6.

I started my 4 yr old on Stan's protocol in Sept. We started with

Lamisil first, then a week later started oral Vancomycin. We decided

to do the oral route for vancomycin because it goes straight to the

gut and doesn't impact the kidney. On Sept 20th we started Valtrex

slowly. Worked up to a full dose about 2 weeks later.

We saw a slight rash on inner thighs after the first week but not

much else. No big wows or regression. The only thing I can pick out

is that his eye contact worsened, his sleeping was more restless and

his stools were more formed. However, when we did a blood test mid-

Oct and found that his Creatinine levels had risen I had to pull him

off everything. His creatinine levels came in at 43 - when they

should be mid 30's. So...we have some kidney strain.

The doctor believes that the vancomycin is not to blame because it

was the oral version, so either the Lamisil or Valtrex was causing

the rise. Does anyone have any experience with this? We're trying to

arrange a discussion with my prescribing Dr, my Naturopath DAN & Dr.

Bradstreet in Florida to get some advice on where to go from here.

I'm at a loss as to what caused the rise and I'm using some natural

kidney support in the meantime to get it back to normal.

Any ideas?
