Guest guest
Hi, , Thank you for writing this. It is all so well written. In my opinion, every point you made hit the nail right on the head. I realize not everyone has the same opinion, and that is one of the wonderful things about this country - we are allowed to have differences of opinion. On this particular matter, however, it is most frustrating. I lost my father sixteen months ago, and I wish that no one else had to go through that horrific experience. He had no other health problems except LBD so his passing was very difficult, to say the least. I just don't understand how anyone could not want to pursue the research that could possibly save so many families from having to experience this. My heart just aches for all the people in our group who are facing what you are facing - the loss of a loved one, maybe this year. (I believe that Bush's father died with Alzheimer's so that makes it even more unbelievable on her part.) Well, I guess that is enough rambling from me on this subject, but I just wanted to thank you for giving my frustrations a voice. Guest guest
Donna, writes so clearly. My mother was a " young " looking person with a bounce in her step before LBD struck her. She was a leader in the local church, and had her organ donor card signed. She chose life every day and in every way that she could. My mother definitely would have chosen to be - well- again, via embryonic stem cell research. Had she had the option, my mother would have chosen life. I've served as a deacon in my church, and I've done my bible study. I still can't begin to follow my Aunt's, or President Bush's thought pattern on this subject. I find no biblical or morel ethic that it is better to flush thousands of frozen embryos down the drain, rather than culture some and heal the sick. With a cure on the medical horizon, President Bush continues to condemn hundreds of thousands of people to a horrible death by following a policy, that is both anti-morel and illogical. My aunt may disagree, but as I'd paraphrase what wrote: she is free NOT to take the cure, should disease comes to her door. Dann
Guest guest
Dann, I don't know if you have noticed lately, but the laws are being made so that one doesn't have a " choice. " It's as if we aren't smart enough to figure it out ourselves. PS I erase the next 4 paragraphs I wrote. I can really get on a Soap Box about this. Hugs, Donna R Caregave for Mom (after I brought her from WI to MI) for 3 years and 4th year in a nh. She was almost 89 when she died in '02. No dx other than mine.
