Guest guest
In her last webcast, Dr. Vliet said new research is coming out about the bad effects of progesterone. She said she is trying to minimize her patients' exposure and gives virtually no progesterone to her patients who have had a hyst. Dr G calls progesterone the make-you-fat, increase-insulin-resistance hormone. I think too many alternative practitioners are still hung up in the Lee dogma. http://www.theaustralian.news.com.au/story/0,20867,20418525-23290,00.html HRT eases menopause, but hard on hearing THE PULSE Compiled by White September 16, 2006 HORMONE replacement therapy could do more than simply ease the symptoms of menopause. New research in the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences has found that women taking the most common form of HRT – the hormones estrogen and progesterone – have accelerated hearing loss compared to women on estrogen alone or those not taking any hormones. On average, women who took progesterone had the hearing of women five to 10 years older. Scientists assessed the hearing of 124 healthy women aged 60 to 86, half of whom had been on HRT for between five and 35 years. They were divided into three groups – 30 women taking estrogen alone, 32 women taking both estrogen and progesterone and 62 women who had never been on HRT. Women whose HRT included progesterone had hearing that was 10 to 30 per cent worse than the other groups. They not only had problems in the inner ear, but also in the parts of the brain used for hearing. Guest guest
I wonder if this could be due to the vasoconstrictive effect of P, reducing the blood flow. > > In her last webcast, Dr. Vliet said new research is coming out about the bad > effects of progesterone.
